    Free housing in Washington D.C.; paid congressional internship, interactionwith Members of Congress.

    Cons

    I can't think of any, it was the best summer of my life.

    Pros

    - The organization has a strong and noble mission.
    - The organization creates life-changing opportunities for young leaders.
    - The staff, by and large, is competent and committed.

    Cons

    - The office building is outdated with dilapidated equipment.
    - The benefits diminish every year with premium increases nearly every year.
    - There are no staff meetings.
    - The organization does not pay vendors on time.
    - The management team is not held accountable.
    - Turnover is rapid, nearly a staffer or intern turns over every month.
    - Priorities change daily.
    - CEO is incompetent and absent. Everyone is afraid of her.

    Advice to Management

    - Listen to and invest in staff.
    - Put program beneficiaries first.
    - Be transparent and show the staff your vision and plan.

    Great company to grow. Staff was knowledgeable and helpful.Great experience with meeting Congress members, Fortune 500 business owners and influential people alike.

    Cons

    Departments need more transparency. Company w[ide newsletter would be beneficial. Makes work less effective when you have to ask 20 people to receive a definitive answer.

    Pros

    Great, close knit hard working staff! You get to rub shoulders with political VIP's. You're working to support a great cause.

    Cons

    The building is historic but staff need more space. It's time to move out to a bigger, newer building... with amenities.

    The org has a great vision. They accomplish a lot for the black youth of America.

    Cons

    The are very definitional and very political. Staff are over worked and under paid with very little appreciation from management.

    Advice to Management

    Get new ones or appreciate the staff more

    I have been working at Congressional Black Caucus Foundation full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Excellent place to work if you have an interest in Politics, Political Administration, Community Development, Governemnt Relations and Congressional Affairs.

    Cons

    When I worked there in 2006, I found that the salary was not comensurate with the comparable repsonsibilities in similar sectors.

    Advice to Management

    Based on my 2006 experience I would suggest that management look at a comprehensive package for employees who see this agency as a place to launch their careers
