I worked at Conifer Health Solutions full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

It's a job and it pays some bills.

    Cons

Conifer is full of no growth. They insist on telling their employees that there is room for growth, but that is a lie! You can work there 30 years and still only make 40k if your lucky. Under paying company. Failure when it comes to compliance and the management team is the worse!

    Advice to Management

Management should learn how to actually be management. Learn to grow your team and do proper background checks when you are hiring those who were not referred by other employees.

I have been working at Conifer Health Solutions full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Tuition Reimbursement: up to $5250 per calendar year (once last reimbursement submitted, must work with company for 2 years)

Personal Development: Learn multiple AR systems and job duties in the RCM to help diversify my skill set in healthcare

    Cons

Health Insurance Benefits: no incentive to seek healthcare services at a Tenet hospital

Growth: the company grew too fast to keep up both communication and change (2015-current)

Clients: too many contract issues, no clear communication between onboarding and RCM teams, clients consistently changing processes creating unnecessary chaos

Leadership: overall leadership is not impressive, too much inconsistency between leadership levels i.e. supervisors, managers, directors, etc., too much favoritism and cliques, unable to routinely communicate with management on a daily/weekly/monthly basis (most communication was high level company-wide, department and team meetings became a distant past usually held quarterly)

Promotions: based on who you know and not what you know or your performance management record

Training & Development: Corporate training is not always applicable to current issues i.e compliance and IT security, Client and System training is not taught effectively to streamline an employee from the training environment to the floor, Written Job Aids are not existent, no personal development courses available through training department to develop leadership skills through the company

Policies: retroactive instead of proactive, most policies were implemented after lawsuits, no fault attendance policy seems to punish people who are legitimately sick and follow up the missed attendance with a doctor’s note to excuse their absence and are willing to make up missed time within the same pay period

Communication: Bonus structure is not always available in certain departments, org charts are not available, “Need To Know” type communication needs to be dissolved as this has created an environment of not releasing any communication as it may not be a “need to know” for this department or this team although any communication helps built knowledge and prepare for the future

    Advice to Management

Be fair and concise in soliciting employee feedback through surveys, Communication needs huge improvement and needs to start with management and be timely and more specific to departments and teams, Change needs to slow down to a manageable level and not daily, Leadership needs to be more engaged and objective with their teams and communication, Companies who grow tremendously overnight also falter in seconds, More emphasis on development of current employees to be great employees and future leaders

    Pros

Great coworkers and supervisors. Group oriented. Weekly meetings.

    Cons

High insurance premiums. Moved seating a few times while there. Always moving departments around to different areas, buildings. Supervisors and managers are overworked.

    Advice to Management

Stop overworking the supervisors and management so they can help the people in their department and aren't stressed to the max.

I worked at Conifer Health Solutions full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    It was a remote job

    Cons

They don't give you the tools necessary to do your job. Once the contract ends you are most likely out of a job unless you can quickly get onto another contract. They enforce mandatory overtime.

    Advice to Management

Once a contract ends you need to allocate your employees into new positions. There is no need to have hundreds of jobs posted and let people go. This is inefficiency on the company's part to keep onboarding new people.

    Pros

My Supervisor, Manager and co-workers were awesome! Schedule appointments for lots of hospitals. Enjoy the actual work. Nice vacation benefits. Monthly incentives if you work hard.

    Cons

Our Director is a walking nightmare! That being said, run for the hills. The atmosphere was miserable thanks to her. Her cereal bars don't make up for the way she treats employees.

    Advice to Management

Look at staff turnover. If so many of us are leaving you might want to look at it, nobody is happy, more of my coworkers are going to leave. As long as the Director is there staff will continue to leave. Even our Supervisor is leaving.

    Pros

Rapidly growing company in an emerging industry. Approachable leadership. Industry leader

    Cons

Revenue Cycle Management is a young industry and Conifer is still working through its business model in how to provide high-quality service to its clients at a lower price than it could provide itself

    Advice to Management

Invest more in technology to differentiate the company from competitors and offer real value to potential clients
