I have been working at Connection full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great people, some managers are good depending on the department, decent PTO...

    Cons

No room for advancement, try to undercut competitors often to gain business and can be a bit unrealistic when trying to execute projects with such a low budget, under market value pay offered for most positions, benefits are mediocre, 401(k) match is a joke.

    Advice to Management

Offer better 401(k) match, more recognized holidays, at least meet market value on pay. It's a revolving door for many positions.

I worked at Connection as a contractor

    Pros

    Consistent hours, enjoyed my co-workers

    Cons

Not enough integration with contracted locations. Sometimes procedures were unclear between the places of work.

    Advice to Management

Please, say what you mean and don't blind side employees. Saying that something is alright one day then changing your mind the next leaves employees feeling confused and unsure.

    Cons

I worked at Connection full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

People you work with are very good with the exception of a few. Laid back as far as working, your not rushed. Work is easy most of the time.

    Cons

Starting pay is below par, but you know this going into the job, don't complain afterwards, you agreed to it. Favoritism with "some" management giving the good jobs to those that are friends. Didn't ever except 3 or 4 times get 40 hours, was around 35 to 37 hours per week, not enough work in order selector department.

    Pros

Work from home, Felixble Schedule, Intelligent Peers, Ability to learn and collaborate, Tenured Sales Reps

    Cons

No corporate credit cards! Have to from all money for travel. And to top it off Expense Reports are kicked back for the most. Insignificant things; which delays reminbursment and is a misuse of personnel time since every kick-back must go down the chain and back up; This could be fixed EASILy with corporate cards like most companies have; Easily match and validate funds within Concur / No SalesForce.com instead a super weak CRM that does not integrate Engineering efforts into sales visibility, a HUGE miss here for professional services injection / A seperate and very sad ticketing tool that does not tie into clothes sales reports that would be available and critical business intelligence from a real CRM / 360 feedback does not exist - zero way for review and provide feedback on our direct managers / Primitive PTO request process using a MS Word Document to email vs an intrenet site / Extremely and annoyingly frugal when it comes to funding for Certs and training / As an engineee we shiuld not have to beg for latested and greeatest gear and trainings to be competice / NO PTO CARRYOVER!

    Advice to Management

We are a tech compan and proclaim to be cutrinf edge but internallt we functionas if it is 2001. This is no joke. Many in upper mgt have long tenures not been exposed to what else is out there and how grossly inefficient our business practces are. We aee losing money through trying to use circa 1995 tools such as WebSpoc.
I love the people and what I do but being stuck in a time warp. Asking employees to find travel out of their own lines of credit and wait weeks to be in reimbursed, and that is if thing are nit kicksd back, it's borderline unethical. From our business practice perspective the. Engineeing arm operates as if each a seperate BU. That may have worked years ago but today's landscape is so fluid and overlapping but we live with walls between us that would foster greater strategic solutions. I posted this all bc HR asked us to and I hope, for the long-term success of our organization to remain competitive , that such is taken seriously inappropriate actions made. Perhaps hire consulting agency to come in and educate on what other leading organizations have implemented and strategies to help us maximIze efficenicenrs and make money by saving money through eliminating cureent grossly inefficient business practices We all win. I love this company but feel like we are in the Movie Office Space creating TPS reports.
