I have been working at Connells full-time for more than a year

    Pros

would definitely recommend this company. pay is competitive, mostly working with great people, and as many mortgage leads as I have the capacity to deal with. Management, while always pushing, seem to know exactly what they are doing, and always have a plan. As for job security - I believe the company has never made anyone redundant in its entire history - doesn't get much more secure than that.

    Cons

it is a big commitment to work here. the hours are long and the pressure to do more is constant, but not overbearing. if you are driven to earn and succeed then you will be fine

    Advice to Management

nothing really to moan about to be fair! a bit more flexibility eg working from home when makes sense to do so would be nice, but mainly all good here

I worked at Connells full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great Training - This is clear in the amount of people that join Connells and then leave once their tie-in period comes to an end; especially the Mortgage Consultants. Clear Career Progression - You know exactly what you have got to do in order to progress, whether it is bankings or compliance. Clear Pay Structure; both basic and commission - You know what to expect as you progress through the ranks (Senior, Manager...

    Cons

Quite a young workplace - Despite it being a good laugh at times, if you're the type of person who wants to get on, work and earn good money, the young workforce doesn't tend to think the same way. Favouritism- Some branch managers get away with murder and are well protected by their ADs. Our successes as mortgage advisers are then accepted by the branch managers and the recognision is taken away from the mortgage consultants....

    Advice to Management

Just treat everybody with a bit more respect and patience. Not everybody will respond positively to the swearing, constant reminder of targets, long working hours or having to conditionally sell to innocent people. A "well done" every once in a while wouldn't go amiss.

I have been working at Connells full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Good pay Excellent training Clear progression Great products Pay can be useful Having a good manager is a God send

    Cons

Long hours Pressure High targets Not all staff are team players Not everyone is on the same pay Staff turnover is a real issue

    Advice to Management

Mortgage consultants are working very hard and it's a tough job. Many people leave due to the work schedule and pressure. I enjoy the job but it's such a problem to get everything done and make sure there is no problems with cases and it's easier said than done. Bonus structure could be more fair.
