    I worked at Connells full-time

    Pros

If you work incredibly hard (and get a bit lucky) you can make money.

    Cons

    - Awful work atmosphere - Training was minimal, no effort was made to help support new members of staff - Base pay is barely enough to live on the first few months when you don't have some sales under your belt, and car allowance is nowhere close to covering how much money you spend driving around.

    Advice to Management

I was at Connells for 3 months and it was by far the 3 most miserable working months of my life.I came in with such enthusiasm, before I was thrown in at the deep end with barely any support and immediately lost interest in the job. If I needed to ask a question, I was treated like a burden. If I didn't ask the question and got something wrong, I was shouted at or belittled. When I tried to discuss with my colleagues...

I have been working at Connells full-time

    Pros

The commission is very competitive, the people I work with, days go quickly, sense of pride, really good training, clear progression, incentives

    Cons

Long hours and small basic salary but commission is where you make your money so I think that’s really fair. It’s a massive company so it can be hard to get noticed but turnover is high so stick at it if you enjoy it and you’ll probably go far.

I worked at Connells full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Being able to get out of the office to do viewings

    Cons

Forced to work over my contracted hours every single week - this was not just meeting the needs of the business it was forced labour, targets were set too high and there was too much petty nit-picking. Viewings were back to back and a lot of the time were impossible to travel to. I wouldn't use Connells to sell my place. Breaks were difficult - couldn't really leave the office a lot of the time, it was the worst place...

    Advice to Management

Try not to bully staff by putting people down in front of others, try to nurcher a bit more. The Southampton area branch managers need to tone it down a bit with their attitude towards staff.

So sorry to hear your poor review but we do have 600 branches employing 7000 hard working and talented people, unfortunately it does not work for everyone, we will not condone bullying of any kind in our business and have a very experienced management team to make sure if it ever ...

    I worked at Connells full-time

    Pros

Good training and opportunity. Some lovely colleagues

    Cons

Expectations can be very high and at times unleastic for the circumstance. Lack of flex.

    Advice to Management

People and offices are all different, therefore they should have different goals. Target the busy/top performers higher than the mid levels. As the mid levels achieve consistently, then raise the bar slowly. The business needs to be more flexible in every way in order to keep up with change.

I worked at Connells full-time for less than a year

    Pros

There are none that I can think of

    Cons

The commission structure is a total joke, the top up that Connells offer their negotiators is, in my opinion disgusting. Before you start to see any commission, you have to earn over £200 a month before you see a penny, if you pay peanuts then you get monkeys! You can earn the same amount of money doing nothing or working hard. I have found the Bournemouth area to be challenging to work under. The management structure...

    Advice to Management

Keep hold of your staff and give us our commission.- reward a fair days work for a fair days pay. Get rid of the people higher up the chain that are counter productive to the needs of the business.
