I have been working at Connells full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Great Team in Thame Very Professional Great Competitiveness

    Cons

Minimal Commission from Sales from as low as 3% of company’s fee Long hours (however this is part of the job and not really a con if you can hack it)

    Advice to Management

Increase commission, especially you are making the company good money and reward good salesmanship at all levels.

I worked at Connells full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Nice offices. Decent annual party. Colleagues were good and had ‘freedom’ to manage my own work and time.

    Cons

Bad pay structures. Basic wage is so low and so far below minimum wage that when you earn decent commission you’re only just earning above minimum wage! Any little thing you sell you receive a tiny percentage. Then your managers earn theirs. Then the area manager earns their cut. And so on!

    Advice to Management

I had a total lack of training, after two years I had still not received formal training! Improve pay structure- as an estate agent minimum wage should not be the benchmark. Targets during work are very unrealistic also. Also there was a culture of handing in your notice to get a pay rise. Instead of recognising hard work and commitment management would push you until you handed in your notice .

I worked at Connells full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

The ability to get out the office to purchase tea, coffee and milk....

    Cons

In general, there is am immorally corrupt culture that exists within this company. Favoring someone to complete a mortgage with Connells over a cash buyer thereby purposely delaying putting cash offers to vendors as they know a mortgage buyer will attract commission for the company. Advertising shared ownership properties but failing to disclose important material facts such as a large cash premium required to purchase...

I worked at Connells full-time for less than a year

    Pros

There are none that I can think of

    Cons

The commission structure is a total joke, the top up that Connells offer their negotiators is, in my opinion disgusting. Before you start to see any commission, you have to earn over £200 a month before you see a penny, if you pay peanuts then you get monkeys! You can earn the same amount of money doing nothing or working hard. I have found the Bournemouth area to be challenging to work under. The management structure...

    Advice to Management

Keep hold of your staff and give us our commission.- reward a fair days work for a fair days pay. Get rid of the people higher up the chain that are counter productive to the needs of the business.

I worked at Connells full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Can earn good money if you dedicate loads of time to the job

    Cons

Shocking management, sales staff aren't rewarded at all for earning the company millions. They don't care about your sales, they now push for mortgage services and base your performance on that High amounts of people leaving over short periods of times because of all the issues in the company

    Advice to Management

Reward your staff, tell them they do well. My new company take us out for meals every month, boat parties, holdiays and loads of rewards. Think of how you treat your employees and then you won't have so many people leaving each month because how appauling this "company" is run.

I have been working at Connells full-time for more than a year

    Pros

If you get placed in an established office in the area (still unlikely) you're set and the opportunities are reasonable.

    Cons

Where do I begin? -Ridiculous working hours (57.5 Per Week) if you leave on time, which if you leave bang on 6/7 dependant on day, without getting everything you planned done, you're frowned upon. -No appreciation from anybody above domestic manager level (IF YOU EVEN THAT LUCKY). Weak self centred managers all over the company with no intention to better their own staff, just to improve their own figures regardless...

    Pros

I came into the job with no experience at all, I have learnt everything from doing a viewing to the variety of surveys and chasing solicitors. Not only do Connells provide training courses for us all to go on all year round so we are kept up to date with the market and how it changes, Connells provides us with massive incentives to succeed an they will push us to aim higher in the company.

    Cons

The length of the working day

I worked at Connells full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Many company products to make commission from, opportunity to meet many good negotiators and to share positive results and routes to success

    Cons

To many cheifs that lead their team by intimidation and threats. Very poor service provided to the vendors who are encouraged to only accept offers from buyers that will earn the company the most money! Very poor basic wage and stingy commission structure, employees are encouraged to conditionally sell company products to bolster the poor commissions, if you conditionally sell then the amount of commission you can earn...
