I worked at Connells full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Many company products to make commission from, opportunity to meet many good negotiators and to share positive results and routes to success

    Cons

To many cheifs that lead their team by intimidation and threats. Very poor service provided to the vendors who are encouraged to only accept offers from buyers that will earn the company the most money! Very poor basic wage and stingy commission structure, employees are encouraged to conditionally sell company products to bolster the poor commissions, if you conditionally sell then the amount of commission you can... earn escalates dramatically! Very high staff turnover. The poor working environment and lack of career progression pushes good employees out of the company in favour of incompetent managers that squeeze and then claim the results out of their replacable workforce!

    Advice to Management

Stop letting Branch managers from high earning branches have impunity to bully their staff! Look after your staff at all levels, a happy employee is a productive employee! Moving your workforce around so regularly is unproductive! Stop lying to your customers and stop encouraging conditional selling in employee training courses. Stop allowing your insecure and unhinged Branch Managers impunity to harass their staff... members, even if it does result in that office making a lot of money for the company, and high commissions or bonuses forthe branch manager. You are rewarding bullying by bad managers for financial return!!! Sickening!

    Pros

Good people, everyone is friendly. sales training is very good always someone to give you advise and help you improve and grow. Healthy competition and incentives.

    Cons

Management is very hit and miss. Favouritism is very prominent and comes with strong double standards. When your told something will happen, I wouldn't hold your breath.

    Advice to Management

No advice everyone is under a lot of pressure.

I worked at Connells full-time for more than a year

    Pros

It's better than being unemployed, if your desperate

    Cons

If you can get past the ridiculously long hours for terrible pay, then you'll face a culture where bullying and abuse is the norm.... Holiday and a lunch hour is seen a luxury. Morals do not exist!... Terrible place to work!! Don't do it!!!...

    Advice to Management

The dog eat dog culture is undoubtably management's fault. So shame on you!! Your staff are human beings, not pawns in your money grabbing machine!

I have been working at Connells full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Easy job, fellow colleagues have a good laugh (youll need to youll be spending every waking hour with them) Viewings are easy, nice getting out the office

    Cons

Low pay, upper management is clueless, 60 hours a week. Encouraged not to take your entitled hour for lunch (you wont make good money if you take an hour) (you wont make good money even if you dont take the hour!!!!) , slow progression, you need someone above to disappear for you to progress

    Advice to Management

Value your staff, get out of the stone age of estate agency and stop focusing on other areas of the business instead of just selling to the best buyer

I have been working at Connells

    Pros

Building relationships with lovely customers Every day is different Can build up your wage with commission (if it's actually paid to you)

    Cons

If you leave they not only refuse to pay you any owed commission for that month, they also deduct the commission youve earnt previously from your last wage package. Badgered non stop until you reach your targets, which are then raised. You're made to force people in for a mortgage appointment, even if they get stroppy. Then they encourage you to build rapport. But how can you build rapport and force people... at the same time?! They want employees with a bit of "common sense" but don't actually want you to use your brain- just to do as they say! You're basically treated as a robot. Customer service is APPALLING. Management is sexist and racist. My black colleague was repeatedly called Profanities to his face and he was expected just to laugh. They bad mouth off their vendors to an unprofessional level. Accused of skiving if you actually use your lunch hour out of the office.

I have been working at Connells full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Plan your own diary, office can be relaxed. Spend time in the day just chatting to public. Offices are usually friendly

    Cons

Pressure from above, ridiculous focus on mortgage services to the point you could lose a deal on it. Expected to work over hours if necessary, 60 hour week." Encouraged" not to take lunch hour, lots of negative reinforcement, you can only earn well/ get the extra perks if you work in a busy office

    Advice to Management

Modernise, appreciate when people do extra work for you and try building a decent repuation instead of stonewalling people into using mortgage services, which is actually not a great service
