I worked at Conroy Simberg full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Very large firm and relaxed environment translated to as close to a family-like environment as could be found in a law firm. Political correctness has not yet come to this firm, which makes for drama-filled, often entertaining, sometimes offensive, but never boring work environment. Loyalty is rewarded (vacation time increases with tenure, raises or other benefits are offered if the firm fears losing a valued employee - though on the flip-side, the fact that such raises or other benefits are offered when faced with the prospect of losing a valued employee implies that such employees otherwise are underpaid!). Young associates get ample courtroom and other litigation experience, along with wonderful mentors. Older lawyers get ample freedom to handle cases assigned to them with little to no supervision, once they prove themselves to be competent.

    Cons

The firm is largely built on nepotism and that, combined with the lack of political correctness at the firm, often translates to resentment among attorney or staff members who are not protected by familial relationships. The stress-level, expectations, and work-life balance largely are dependent upon the specific office and direct supervisor for whom one works - and they vary greatly, from truly monstrous to kind, generous, gentle and brilliant.

    Pros

as everyone has mentioned - free bagels on pay day

    Cons

no direct deposit, managing partners talk to you as how they please - even if that means yelling at your at volumes that could shake the whole building, you are literally just a number and nothing else. they treat everyone like they're above everyone and its NO wonder that their turnover rate is ONE OF THE HIGHEST in all of Florida. stats don't lie.

    Advice to Management

step down and step out! do your firm a favor! also stop promoting all the brown nose people and incompetent!

I worked at Conroy Simberg full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Less than a handful of attorneys that are a pleasure to work for.

    Cons

The list is pretty long....no direct deposit...um what century are we in???!. Micromanaging at its best. You have to wait months for your review IF you even get one. No appreciation for their employees. Revolving door

    Advice to Management

Learn how to treat your employees!

I have been working at Conroy Simberg full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Large firm support, small firm feel, benefits, great people and appreciation. No mandatory Saturday's but free breakfast and lunch provided to those who come in.

Billing requirements may seem high but you have enough work to hit them every month without working Saturdays.

    Cons

There is no direct deposit available and the bank they use is not compatible with WellsFargo or BOA! It's been a struggle to get paid every pay period!

    Advice to Management

Get direct deposit for your employees. This firm is too big to not have it available.

I worked at Conroy Simberg full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

    Gained experience. Some great attorneys.

    Cons

Too militant and should treat para-professionals as just that - professionals. My last year there was 1998. Does not provide 1998 as an option above so picked 2011.

    Advice to Management

Could change a lot to jeep good workers such as the Cons listed above.

I worked at Conroy Simberg full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Most attorneys do not micro manage. You are given direction and are allowed to run files on your own. Assistants are generally very knowledgeable.

    Cons

Too many family members are given preferential treatment. In addition, reviews are fine extremely late and you have to ask numerous times.

    Advice to Management

Stop hiring family when the family members have no qualifications.

    Pros

Great staff support and team work among attorneys. Big firm with small firm family feel.

    Cons

Lots of pressure to bill and work Saturdays. Internal politics are also tricky.

    Advice to Management

Consider a quarterly bonus structure for billable requirements to motivate attorneys.
