    Unsuccessful Management Team

    Pros

    The Travel benefits are good.

    Cons

My opinion is Management has totally gone down. They are ineffective, slightly abusive and have lost touch with the reality of the company and what it offers. Maybe they were good at some time but they are inept in handling operations now.

    Pros

There are many Pros to joining Consero, from the open office concept and being able to easily chat with your peers, to jet setting around the country and meeting the c-suite execs from the top global companies, and to even the relaxed office environment. The office has a less structured model which will allow you to work independently day to day- this is great if you trhive in this environment, but if not you may struggle with the lack of structure. Consero has incredible model for the conferencing space and I have no doubt will continue to build their footprint and ensure long term success, and while working for them you can be along for the ride and network and build connections with people in high places.

    Cons

While there are many pros there are a few downsides- as we all know nothing is perfect. The company is small, which allows you to get to know everyone on a personal level, however this enhances a clear disparity between the members of the team that are more senior and the others who have either just begun or are still in their first couple years. There are rules that don't seem to apply to these more senior members, but are held to a higher degree for the newcomers. The other is that while there is opportunity for title advancement, there are no processes for actual career advancement, leaving a lot to be desired if you are driven to continue to achieve more.

    Consero = Skills for Life

    Pros

Anyone joining Consero will receive a high level education in the conferencing industry, the companies of corporate America, business verticals (i.e. procurement, compliance, etc, sales, account management, the list goes on. A nervous traveler, Consero created a competent Jetsetter out of me and will do the same for you. And what can beat traveling to the 4-5 hotels where Consero holds their events? Thriving culture! The Social Committee is always putting on terrific events and the high energy staff always ensures they're a blast. The company is pouring money into technology, especially its Salesforce platform. Consero is also experiencing historic financial growth which should start to impact employees heading into 2020.

    Cons

Too much fun? No, the benefits leave a lot to be desired. Insurance is expensive, non-matching 401k, tax-free SmartTrip Benefits, though. Lack of processes. The heavy hitters seem to be operating on different wavelengths which is great as they continue to fill the company coffers, but terrible as the marginalized rank and file are left scrambling and grumbling. For someone who is distracted by the slightest movement or sound and apt to distract others in return, an open office is horrific. However, I will say that it builds a high degree of esprit de corps.

    Great People & Excellent Product

    Nov 6, 2019 - Ops

    Business Outlook

    Pros

Consero's CEO is extremely supportive and takes a personal interest in his employees as individuals providing a safe platform to discuss goals and concerns candidly without fear of retribution. Due its smaller size and consequently intimate environment, Consero provides a lot of opportunity for earlier entry into leadership positions (one doesn't have to spend years climbing the corporate ladder to participate in meaningful conversation amongst senior leadership.) Consero also consists of an excellent group of talented individuals which fosters a really fun and engaging work environment. At its core, Consero provides a truly phenomenal product – the core mission is solid and is evidenced by its excellent reputation among industry leaders. At the end of the day, Consero is still a young and ever-changing company, but there is a lot of untapped potential that yields exciting opportunities for young professionals.

    Cons

Consero is still transitioning out of its "start-up" stages and, as a result, working to define a more structured work atmosphere. Lines between roles may not be as clear as they would at a larger and more established entity. Senior leadership can be slow to extricate themselves from day-to-day functions as the teams continue to grow.

    No Better Place to Develop

Apr 9, 2019 - Manager, Strategic Partnerships in Bethesda, MD

    Pros

You’d be hard pressed to find a firm that gives you as much opportunity and development as Consero does. In just the first few months, this company transformed me from a newly graduated college student unsure about what he wanted from life into a sharpened sales professional that could hold his own with customers and competitors twice his age. You’ll get trained by some of the best salespeople in the industry and, moreover, you’ll be mentored by management that truly cares about their team. You’ll be given opportunities to sell to and network with some of the most powerful senior executives in the world and, with Consero’s training, you have more than a fair shot at succeeding. You'll also work with a peer group of bright individuals all working towards similar goals. Even years later, some of my best friends were folks I worked with at Consero.

    Cons

It takes hard work and resilience to succeed at Consero. Selling is hard, selling for a startup is harder. Is it tough? Absolutely. Will everyone make it? Nope. The company truly gives you what you need to be successful but it does require you putting in 100% every single day

You work with c-level execs on a day-to-day basis.

    Pros

-Amazing co-workers that are super supportive, smart and polished (CEO is in the board of directors of Yale and UMD) -Growing late-stage start-up company and a pioneer in the space. Solutions are easier to sell compare to competitors. -They are hiring like crazy. Get in while you still can. ***Most important Pros: -1)You get to work with c-level execs of F1000 (right out of college.) Like literally famous people in the large enterprise space. Customers absolutely love and are big cheerleaders of Consero. 2)Founders of Consero are brilliant, loving, funny and forward thinkers. You have the privilege to work directly with SVPs of Consero - people that have 10+ years experience in sales/industry/business, etc. They will go above and beyond to make sure you are successful and have what you need to achieve your goals. By just sitting in your AEs and Head of Sales' calls (he also coaches you 1-on-1 all the time, which is pretty unheard of given he is also one of the founders of the company and have a lot more responsibilities than just managing the sales team) you will learn tons. 3)The CEO and Founders have extreme ethical values and professionalism. They don't talk negatively about competition (even though Consero is wayyy better). They will teach/show you how to be a good and genuine person which is hard to find in today's sales environments.

    Cons

Depends on how you look at it, cons could also be pros. You will get so much freedom and autonomy that frustrates some employees. But if you are an independent, go-getter type of person, you will thrive. -Typical growing pains of a fast-growing start-up. -Things are not given to you on a silver platter. You have to ask for it.

    Pros

I had the pleasure of working with the Consero team and I cannot think of really any negatives. Paul Mandell is an excellent CEO and has put together a great team of individuals that all want what's best for the company. Everyone is willing to help each other out and it is a great team atmosphere.

    Cons

    I cannot think of any.

Incredible opportunity to gain a lot of skills and make a big impact

    Pros

    1. Awesome team: Consero is definitely one big family, many coworkers have become close personal friends. 2. Excellent Training: We consistently hear positive feedback from existing and potential clients about the caliber of our staff. Management does a phenomenal job of training new hires to grow into the best salespeople in the business. 3. LEARN (a lot): Few entry-level sales roles give you the experience you will get at Consero. You are trained to do everything from prospecting and lead research to pitching to negotiating and closing your own deals to managing your very own clients. You also get the chance to learn about a variety of different corporate functions given the spread of programs we host (HR, Finance, Legal, etc). 4. Travel: A huge "Pro" is the opportunity to fly out to our programs and host/manage your clients. Programs take place everywhere from FL to CA to Vegas, and even overseas

    Cons

This job requires a lot of hard work and a fierce work ethic. It takes time to get into the swing of things and it can be tough at first. Sales requires thick skin and the ability to get back on the horse no matter what. The good news is that management and team members alike are there to support you through transitions and challenges. You just have to bring the work ethic to get where you need to be.

Many opportunities to grow & develop multiple skills

    Pros

Consero is a great place to work if you are a self-motivated individual who appreciates macro-management vs. micro-management, and are interested in developing skills within and outside of your immediate job function. Because it is a start-up, you are expected to work hard during work hours. If you are someone that wants to float by, don't bother applying, that's not what a start-up is all about! My advice? Go work for the government. Managers are very transparent about the job duties, and like any other company, you have to work hard, put in a lot of effort and demonstrate a good attitude to move up the ranks and gain more responsibility. Whether you move up or stay in your position, you develop tremendous customer service, project management, sales, communication, and marketing skills. Not to mention that you singlehandedly have the opportunity to run an event for some of the most powerful and successful executives in the country and abroad. The connections you make and opportunities you are given are very unique. My resume is 50x stronger now then it was before I started working for this company. It's unfortunate to see such negative reviews but it tells me that you weren't willing to put in the work. Note to those people -- don't apply for a job at a start-up!

    Cons

Cold calling and sales is not for everyone. And, that's ok. Pay attention to the answers given to you during your interviews and prepare questions so you can determine whether the position is a good fit for you before committing. Most positions are salaried plus commission-based hence, you have to work hard to make money. Not unheard of for sales-based positions.
