I have been working at Consolidated Credit Counseling full-time

    Pros

Consolidated Credit was a great place to work. Management is flexible and listens to your ideas. It's an ideal place to learn, gain experience and help the community with financial advice. People are really fun, friendly and understanding; they care about getting the work done but also about the health and well-being of their employees. This is not corporate america, where you are treated as a number. Here upper management knows your name and says hello. Very consistent culture as well.

    Cons

None I can think of. Some of the managers can be a little dry at times.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the great work! People tend to stay a long time, so you must be doing something right!

I worked at Consolidated Credit Counseling full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

they had events every now and then with semi-decent food. They try really hard to make it seem like the company cares about their employees, so I guess that's a pro?

    Cons

They essentially train you to be a financial advisor, but they pay you as a customer service agent, which is completely ridiculous given the amount of money the owner makes. This place is supposed to be a non-profit but the customers pay for the service so how this business has stayed up and running for 15+ years I don't know... Honestly, if you're desperate and have low self-steam its not a bad job, but for those of us who have bigger plans, this place is a big effing joke. They are also not very student-friendly so if you go to college and work full time you better get yourself another job.

    Advice to Management

PAY YOUR EMPLOYEES A LIVING WAGE. I MADE $12 AN HOUR FOR A JOB THAT WAS ESSENTIALLY THE SAME AS A CREDIT ADVISOR.

The company has a great employee culture filled with spirit weeks and themed days. Each department is dedicated to its respective goals. I had a great time working in the PR/Marketing department with a wonderful team that I still keep in contact with. It's also great seeing your ideas and work come to life!

I worked at Consolidated Credit Counseling full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I worked in the PR/marketing department for Consolidated Credit for about two years. April Lewis-Parks was my boss and she was amazing! I learned so much from her on the public relations side... she has so much insight to offer to any PR or marketing professionals looking for a great work place to learn on the job. She was a great boss who was understanding, positive, fun to go to lunch or happy hour with and an overall pleasure to work with and learn from. In addition to the great group of people at Consolidated, I had the opportunity to learn so much about personal finance and the financial industry.

    Cons

April, Gary and all of the exec team were great -- I really have no complaints.

    Advice to Management

Keep being supportive of your team! You're doing a great job and thanks everything.
