I worked at Consona full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great client base but slowly losing them
    Great Services team

    Cons

    Dishonest with employees and customers
Do not invest in product - CEO and mgmt just make money from maintenance renewals
Sales management has never sold a product in their careers so skills are very limited

    Advice to Management

    Be honest to your employees
Stop doing a CYA for all business decsions
Dont think they will get a job anywhere else so do goo for your paymasters

    Pros

    Flexibility of hours
    Experience working with distributed teams/off-shoring
    Very little micromanagement

    Cons

The company is not stable. Despite making EBITDA numbers from quarter to quarter, the company is not doing well financially.
    Layoffs are common.
Executive management believed that all staff are replaceable parts, and the staff are treated that way.
There's a general lack of focus/direction across its business units.
Consona is in the business of Wall Street, not in the business of developing quality software products.

    Advice to Management

Please learn to respect your employees.
After a single week of employment, it's clear that your words are hollow. If you want your staff to trust you, you need to back up your words with consistent action.
Just because you read a book about it doesn't make you an expert.

    Pros

Green field in many ways in marketing, sales, consulting. If you like an informal and unconstrained working environment with nice people. you will like it. Very open and non-political. Very plain-speaking and helpful people.

    Cons

There is not much progress in terms of addressing internal problems with product, policy, sales, marketing, leadership, etc. You are on your own here. No career path whatsoever. Fake objectives and reviews. Very poor and partial sales and marketing tools, handouts, case studies, etc - you better be a good tap dancer and a do-it-yourselfer in you are in sales! An old CRM implementation that is not much help. Consona management is at a remote and high level with no hands on thus nothing is addressed really.

    Advice to Management

REVIEW SOME SALES! Do you have ANY idea what is going on in your company? Oh wait, you are all EBIDTA. Let some heads roll for poor performance, NOT just for cost cutting. LISTEN to some employees.
