Meh
May 20, 2019 - Customer Engagement Specialist in Waltham, MARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
A good way to earn money if you are in college and live near Waltham.
Cons
The support department is essentially the one thing that separates Constant Contact from its competitors yet they get very little respect. A lot of extra responsibilities are piled on them with little room to grow.

Pros
Constant Contact has a great, relaxed working environment. Most people who work there are generally good and kind people. The company has a very good work-life balance and a really nice headquarters.
Cons
Constant Contact is not the most innovative or forward moving companyConstant Contact is not the most innovative or forward moving companyConstant Contact is not the most innovative or forward moving company. They don't evaluate or revamp their processes to be more efficient and effective. There is also some people who seem to work there just to have a job and are not as passionate about it as one would hope.
Work-life balance is definitely important for a happy and healthy workforce, and so is innovation. If you haven’t joined our biweekly Company Meeting where Harp, other members of the Exec Leadership Team and product/project owners talk about what we/they are doing to move the needle then be sure to attend or if you’re not able to, be sure to watch the archived 30 minute recordings. And of course, if you have an idea that’s not being addressed then jumpstart your idea at the next InnoJam where you can work with your colleagues across the org on our next best idea!

Pros
The people working at Constant Contact really make the company -- from top down, everyone is great to work with. You get the feeling management cares about the employees and they have nice perks including a beer cart on Fridays.
Cons
It's a meeting heavy culture and sometimes you need to cut through red tape in order to get things done. Management has tried to cut back on meetings by instituting "Meeting Free Tuesdays." Not everyone follows this, but meetings are usually lighter on that day.

Great Company to Work For!!!
Dec 10, 2014 - in West Lafayette, INRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Everyone that works at Constant Contact is super friendly and full of information. You have a question they will stop what they are doing and help answer your questions they best way they can and if they do not have the answer they will get it for you pretty quickly. There is a lot of training so you know the ins and outs of Constant Contact, it does not matter if you know how to use there product or not they teach you everything you need to know to success within the company.
Cons
The traffic to the company in Waltham is awful.

Depending where and when you're starting from, traffic can sometimes be an issue. If you are coming from the city or anywhere near the Alewife station, in case you haven't already, you might want to give our free Constant Contact employee shuttle a try. It runs from Alewife directly to our front door. You can speak with your HR Business Partner for more details on arrival and departure times, and that person will have information about the Rte 128 shuttle too.

Great company to work for
Jul 29, 2015 - Senior Product Manager in Waltham, MARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Constant Contact has a great culture and mission. The people are really great to work with and the hiring policy on culture works hard to keep it that way. Freedom to bring up ideas, thoughts and move your teams work forward is really refreshing.
Cons
Communication between senior management and individual contributors is not as strong as it used to be or could be. It's hard for an individual contributor or team leader to always understand how their work contributes to the overall strategy and success of the business. Too many projects going on at once that don't all come together as a whole.

Constant Contact
Thank you for your review. We pride ourselves on our culture and work hard to maintain it no matter changes. People like you have been a huge contributor to building the culture that we have today. So, thank you for your 8+ years here! Freedom to bring up new ideas is definitely something we like to encourage, especially with the increased focus on innovation (InnoLoft, InnoIdea, InnoJams, etc). But your suggestion about allocating resources is fantastic!

Pros
At Constant Contact you're going to run into a lot of great, friendly people. They do little things to try and make working there fun including special events and free beer, soda, snacks. Schedule wise they're pretty flexible, encourage work/life balance, and offer great benefits. The company is also trying to be more innovative.
Cons
Unfortunately, the overall culture at Constant Contact is toxically passive-aggressive. People are quick to take credit for your work, and even quicker to throw you under the bus. The company lacks leadership in this area, and work quality goes unemphasized, hard work unrewarded. Instead, here it is all about who you know- making anyone who isn't in their club expendable (and they'll let you know it). Because of the beuracracy, it is almost impossible to get anything done in a timely fashion, and problems are generally ignored, covered up, or chastised when brought up. The CEO does not listen, and as such the company has struggled to retain top talent.

Fun and Valuable Internship
Jan 2, 2014 - Anonymous Intern in Waltham, MARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
- Interesting Work - Knowledgeable People - Friendly Environment - Competitive Pay - Fun, Social Activities - Quality Intern Program - Relatively Transparent Management in regards to strategy for a company of its size Constant Contact offers a great internship program. I was very lucky to have secured a position over the summer in my area of interest. I landed on a great team working on an interesting project, from which I learned a lot about being effective in the software world. The company has a good name, and that has opened doors for me in finding a full-time job. While I wish I could have stayed on-board as a permanent employee, I'm still happy nonetheless for the opportunity I had at a great company. I felt appreciated as an intern. I was being assigned meaningful work. And the pay was good, as well as the frequent free food and beer cart Fridays. HR went to great lengths to make our time at CTCT enjoyable. We had lunch sessions with the senior executives, including Gail, the CEO. We were treated to a Red Sox game. And a few other freebies. Considering that we were all getting paid to learn and grow in our respective fields, the attention and care we received was very generous.
Cons
- Product Suite not as cutting edge as some of our competitors - Size: Organization sometimes felt comprised of silos - Slow to Implement Change (So much buy-in and negotiation required)

Pros
Constant Contact has an abundance of pros, with the culture and people being the main reason I would recommend. Beer cart fridays, company outings, team activities, free drinks and low-price snacks in the break room. There are also some GREAT leaders and managers here.
Cons
Growth is difficult. In my two years here, I maybe saw 3 or 4 opportunities open up for higher positions across two departments.

Once Great Company Ruined By Thoughtless Leadership
Sep 20, 2022 - Anonymous EmployeeRecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
Great opportunity to get experience, develop skills, and learn how NOT to lead. Constant Contact was once an extremely employee and customer first culture where opinions and viewpoints were heard and actually listened to. That is no longer the case. The only thing keeping most tenured employees there are the quality of health benefits and the notion of 'the evil you know now is better than the evil you have yet to discover'.
Cons
Siris and Clearlake installed leadership are far from leaders. The entire c level suite the the epitome of how NOT to lead an organization. Company leadership is so far out of touch and doesn't show an ounce of employee pride. They put on a face in company meetings (if they are even held on a consistent basis) then immediately closing the meeting and bad mouthing the employees that participated in the meeting. The Constant Contact product used to be a market leader however after years of product mismanagement and lack of development, the product is no longer competive in a dying industry. They just launched SMS marketing.....5 years too late. Automation components are surface level and years behind the next closest competitor. Company objectives, churn expectations, and revenue targets are not obtainable. Would not be surprised if the brand is sold off in the coming year as a customer count buy, and the entire company is gutted.
