I worked at Constellation Brands full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great office camaraderie, lots of lunches and happy hours (there's a bar in the office), smart, fun leadership, growing F500 company, good autonomy to carry out tasks.

    Cons

Not very diverse, not much room for innovative thought or trying new things, lots of people there just like having a job (it's a safe 9 to 5), not much mentorship unless you seek it out, inefficient IT systems.

    Advice to Management

Bring in some diversity and develop a mentorship program to develop and grow talent. Keep having a positive attitude. Take import tax threats personally and fight them (and their advocates) with the power of a Fortune 500 company. Don't let them take away my Modelo--I will not pay 20% more for it.

I have been working at Constellation Brands full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great company culture, employee engagement, cross-functional collaboration. Good overall benefit packages. Very passionate work-force. Training and advancement are available to those who apply themselves. A lot of pride in producing some of the most sought after brands in the industry. Progressive approach to technologies.

    Cons

Compensation is below several other major employers in like industries and areas, good bonus program but not enough for staff operating pay-check to pay-check. Very high level of expectation for work loads at times compromises a good work life balance. Often seems there is too much work for the staffing available. At times short-term goals do not support long term sustainability examples succession planning and investments into facilities.

    Advice to Management

Continue to evaluate salaries/wages and adjust as appropriate. Continue to work on and develop succession plans, promote within.

I worked at Constellation Brands as an intern

    Pros

A lot of project management responsibility. There is the opportunity to manage projects independently.

    Cons

There is not that many members in the engineering department. This makes it difficult to be a design engineer.

    Pros

The company is wonderful, many perks. A growing company. Reputable. Very nice people. The company takes care of their employees.

    Cons

I could not move up without a bachelors or above. I felt there could of have been schooling or training to help you advance through the company especially if you were a stable employee.

    Pros

Good Perks. Very Generous Product Allowance provided for purchasing Company's products (Beer and Wine). I purchased expensive wines that I would not have purchased at my own expense. Excellent brand of Imported Beer, growing rapidly in sales. Relaxed work atmosphere. Excellent Health Insurance. Generous Cash Bonus plan.

    Cons

Information Technology does not get the credit it deserves. Sales and Marketing are the main drivers. Limited scope for career advancement in IT.

I worked at Constellation Brands (More than 3 years)

    Pros

good products, good benefits, some good people, pay is decent, stock options, vacation from the start, employee product program is good

    Cons

depends on where in the company you work.... lack of work life balaseen in many areas, some newer management (younger management) do not care about employees and are only on fast path up

    Advice to Management

stop protecting management - HR and add some older more employee experienced management who understand how to manage and treat employees

I worked at Constellation Brands (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Not bad pay, a lot of really talented people, and a growing company. It feels like Constellation is taking over the alcohol industry - look at the acquisitions.

    Cons

There really is not room to grow, and there isn't a huge incentive to stay. It's a great resume builder and then you move onto something else.

    Advice to Management

Do instead of say. If you want to retain talent, you need to dangle a carrot. When you don't do that, your strong talent will get poached.

I worked at Constellation Brands full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Excellent benefits, challenging work, very independent. Operates with a number of zones that are based on states and brands. Only industry where state law overrules federal law so knowledge of your individual location is very key. Lots of interaction with sales, tight deadlines but also monthly job functions are routine and predictable.

    Cons

The wine industry is a rolling 8000 pound machine. It will run with or without you there. Due to the size and volumes, you are not even a cog in the wheel, but a very stable job if you can operate within the organizational structure.

    Advice to Management

Provide more job rotations and increased opportunity. Once you are at a job, there is little ability or encouragement for upward mobility.
