    Pros

Working for Constellation was easily the best job I have ever had. Not only do you have the potential to make great money if you work hard, but it is also a really positive work environment. This company made my efforts feel valued and appreciated and my talents recognized. There is a lot of room for advancement opportunities and a wealth of support and guidance to help you get there. The management team motivates and entourages you to capitalize on your strengths and improve your weaknesses to make you the most successful agent you can be. If I weren't pursuing graduate school for something different, I would have loved to stay.

    Cons

Sales can be very cyclical and stressful at times when you are in a lull. That is no fault of the company and just something that comes with the territory.

    Advice to Management

    Do away with PIP. :)

    Pros

Friendly atmosphere with frequent happy hours after work, paid well, great resume booster, given opportunities for future jobs if they like you

    Cons

Not enough work given, often very bored with little to do, meetings took away from others productiveness and weren't very useful meetings (could have been sent out in an email)

    Advice to Management

Continue to keep employees engaged, make them feel wanted because often fellow employees complained they didn't feel their work was appreciated

I worked at Constellation (Less than a year)

    Pros

Very good work environment: nice and helpful co-workers and excellent life-work balance. The low cost of living in Baltimore makes the living standard remarkable.
Management is demanding but values work-life balance at the same time. The work on the trade floor is exciting and interesting. Opportunities to learn a lot and grow professionally.

    Cons

Current office building maybe a bit old but that should be fixed soon with the new building in Harbour East (which looks awesome).

    Pros

    strong benefits
    challenging work environment
    good growth potential

    Cons

flexibility is key to development and career growth. The company appreciates those who are flexible and willing to relocate - may be a con for those with strong roots in one area or a family that may be difficult to relocate.

I've had difficulty in getting "opportunities for growth" or improvement from my direct supervisors during reviews. I'm a good employee, but not perfect, I know I can improve in some areas, but no one seems to want to give "negative" feedback. I wish managers were better equipped to help their direct reports stretch and grow as employees.

change is inevitable and sometimes unpredictable.

    Advice to Management

I think more emphasis and guidance on career development should be taken. I also think managers should be better equipped to see the development of those who work for them not as a threat but as an opportunity to build up strong employees for the business.

I also think that if we're going to do something we should not just do it to say we've done it and check it off the list. I think we should do it and do it well - whatever that may be: Knowledge sharing, mentor programs, career development programs etc.
