I worked at Contec, Inc. full-time

    Pros

The work is not really hard as long as you maintain your pace. Supervisors and Managers communicate to let people know what is going on. Not sure why people complain about Supervisors and Managers not helping. It is not their jobs to be stacking wipes. They are there to oversee the work.

    Cons

Having to gown up in Laundry is a pain. But that is just part of the job.

    Advice to Management

Get rid of employees who are always being negative! They bring everyone else down.

I worked at Contec, Inc. full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Lots of free gifts from the Company & the canteen.

    Cons

Really, really hot! This place is a sweat shop outside the clean rooms. The managers don't really help and are only interested in production. Management was terrible. They expect you to do 110% everyday in a hot environment where you sweat your butt off for a very low pay.

  3. "Good place to work if you need weekends, you get the weekend off or your could work wekends"

    Pros

If you're going to school this is good for you. If you're going to school they have a weekend shift.

    Cons

In the shift that I worked, I only got one break.

    Advice to Management

None I think they do a great job

I worked at Contec, Inc. as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

You get a paycheck. The work isn't hard itself, anyone can do it.

    Cons

You work 8 hours sitting with a group of people stacking wipes all day. You rotate every so often with counting the wipes backwards off a scale and bagging them, or being the person sealing the bags. You can't even talk to the people at your table, and you get ONE 45 min break the whole day. If you go to the restroom, you have to sign your name when you leave and time you come back. You have to wear a suit, hood, mask, hairnet, gloves, safety glasses and these boot things. The job itself isn't hard but they have terrible leadership and terrible process flow. I can't work somewhere that you get one short break all day and then you can't talk the rest of the time all while also being treated like inmates. They can't keep employees and seem not to care either, the lead in the room loves having authority and it shows.

    Advice to Management

Get new leadership in the clean room. Treat people like the adults that they are. Extend the break to an hour if you're only going to give one. Find a leaner, more efficient way of producing.

    Pros

Relaxed company culture, great travel opportunities, fairly flexible schedule if you are willing to work some rough hours occasionally.

    Cons

Very rigid path to progress in the company. You must go into sales and they don't tell you that up front. Management can be hit or miss.

    Advice to Management

Avoid hiring family and friends, while it creates a wonderful laid back environment it also can cloud judgement and form favoritism.

I worked at Contec, Inc. part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The 12-hour shifts on the weekend is a great source of income for full-time students, and helps keep work and school separate. Most jobs are easy enough to understand and excel at.

    Cons

Working on production floor is absolutely dreadful during the summer due to the heat. Some jobs seem much harder than others, yet pay less?

I worked at Contec, Inc. full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Compensation, benefits, and work load division was very fair in my opinion and with hard work there was always opportunities to advance that were offered rather quickly.

    Cons

Depending upon the shift you choose to work, your schedule can make it very difficult to attend social and family events.

    Advice to Management

Focus more intently on hiring supervisors and superiors who value pitching in with production needs to be made. Often times this fails to happen when managers are more focused on giving orders than following their own advice.
