I worked at Continental Carbonic full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The feeling of relief after leaving.

    Cons

You could write a doctoral dissertation on how bad this place fails at everything they do but still manages to be profitable. I have never worked somewhere with the morale so low. The amount of turnover is ponderous. Top management sets unreasonable goals to make sure you don't receive bonuses. Most middle management paid 30% to 40% under market while hourly employees are making market or over market, so it's no wonder managers aren't happy at all and treat the hourly employees like garbage. Traveling for the company is a sham. Training for new managers is a joke. No empathy or mentoring for employees, you sink or swim. You are pushed to the level of a mental breakdown then expected to hold that pace from then on until you snap and quit or get fired. Bottom line, if you don't want a family, don't mind making minimal pay for your skills, and don't want the bother of a social life, this place is for you.

    Advice to Management

Get in touch with the human race. Eliminate the inbreeding within top management and the nepotism allowing worthless mouth breathers to remain within the top ranks.

I worked at Continental Carbonic full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

There is no good reason to work at CC.
Maintenance is the most unorganized and lazy people I've seen.

    Cons

Dealing with what seems to be the lowest standard of people to be alive.

    Advice to Management

    Quit and never come back.
Management only concerns themselves with how good they look to corporate.
Doesn't care in any way about their employees.
Adam Hukil is the worst employee that works for them. Compulsive liar and lazy.

I worked at Continental Carbonic full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Relationships with customers and employees. Interesting to see product in various applications.

    Cons

Dishonest and vindictive Middle Management. Expect retaliation if you speak up. Most unprofessional group Ive worked with in 20 years. No work life balance at all. You are not paid what was offered at your time of hire.

    Advice to Management

Replace your Area managers. They are one of the many reasons why you cant keep good people. The nepotism and favoritism is out of control. You've already found this out apparently. Shame it wasnt sooner.

I worked at Continental Carbonic full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

...before they thought they could 'armchair manage' tenured professional Class-A CDL drivers, things were awesome...home almost every night, yeah a few quirky electronic tools that froze-up or failed to work right, but for the most part, a decent income and simple work routine...then they got big heads...

    Cons

Micro managers from hell, ..ungodly management styles...unpleasant interactions uncalled for, demeaning, disrespectful and condescending staff.

    Advice to Management

...go home, sell the company to real people, take your losses

I have been working at Continental Carbonic full-time

    Pros

Not really any. I guess the people were ok. Safety specialist was eye candy.

    Cons

Production Manager was super incompetent and didn't have a clue to what was going on. They say safety over production but it's the other way around. Management gets bonuses for hitting production goals but the actual people cutting the ice don't.

    Advice to Management

Listen to the people. They make your bonuses happen.

I worked at Continental Carbonic full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

They supposedly pay there truck drivers $70000 and up which sounds great. But you end up earning every penny of it.

    Cons

But what they expect for that and the crap equipment they use makes it a real hard grind.
I spent 2 days working on safety videos that had no relation to truck driving. Then 2 days out on the road learning how they did things. Unfortunately for me and them I lived 90 mins drive from the plant. I had to drive there then spend 12-14 hours out on the road, then drive 90 mins home, then was expected to be back there in 7-8 hours to take the next load out. So I was getting home going to bed for about 5 hours shower eat then 90 min drive back.

    Advice to Management

Get some decent trucks and trailers and when you say that your gonna put someone up in a hotel do so.
