I have been working at Convergence Marketing

    Pros

Pay is good for this type of work, flexible schedules, enjoyable work

    Cons

Communication is horrible, Almost all emails and phone calls will be ignored, I will be told one thing and when that changes no one will let me know. Jobs will just come and go with no notice, so you will plan to work and then find out you no longer have that job. Instructions you are given will upset stores. The stores will want you to do more, but you are told not too. Management is terrible my Manager never answers...

    Advice to Management

Communication answer your phones and emails. Talk to the stores and you employees so everyone is on the same page. Reduce the size district managers run, they are too large for one person

    Negative Outlook

I have been working at Convergence Marketing part-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Busy during spring and late summer/fall season.

    Cons

Work not assigned consistently. They ask you to "cross over" another merchandiser while they assign that merchandiser closer to your home. When I asked for a raise, it wasn't based on previous/quality of previous work, it was based on my "availability". Really? No chance for growth in this company.

    Advice to Management

Make sure your regional managers are more available to field team. We go to work at 5 a.m. If we have a problem in the field, we don't want to wait until "office hours" to get it resolved.

I worked at Convergence Marketing part-time for less than a year

    Pros

Flexibility with non-seasonal hours. Busy time was Fall and Spring resets

    Cons

This company did not provide enough help f(man power) for the resets. High turn over rate

I have been working at Convergence Marketing full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Management (specifically in Michigan ) is FANTASTIC. Work is seasonal but when in season, work is plentiful if you want the hours.

    Cons

Work is seasonal, and that causes a lot of turn around. They don't train people very well, it is up to the team leads to do so.

    Advice to Management

Get more trainers in the field. There's plenty of people who would be willing to step up and take a role as a trainer. And stop choosing favorites from the people you hired from other companies when you took them over. Those people need to earn their titles, not be given them.

I have been working at Convergence Marketing part-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

It's a job. Cosmetics resets are fun.

    Cons

A lot of time is spent doing things you aren't compensated for. i.e. paperwork, driving from job to job, watching required videos. Management is clueless as to what really goes on in the field. Getting the proper tools to complete a job can be a struggle. Communication is lacking. As someone else stated, the area manager can make or break you depending how they feel about you.

    Advice to Management

Go in the field more. Make surprise visits to the resets. The teams would appreciate seeing you. At least pretend to care about the people in the field.

I have been working at Convergence Marketing part-time for less than a year

    Pros

It is fun to work in the various stores and the work constantly changes which makes it interesting. Some of the people that work there are very nice and professional. I enjoyed many of the people I worked with during the first three months.

    Cons

Jobs are unfairly assigned. They tell you that you can self assign jobs, but when you do that they are then reassigned. There is not enough work. When I was hired I was promised 30 hours per week for at least the first three months, and this never happened. A few weeks reached twenty, but as a whole I averaged 10 hours per month. They also did not fulfill there promise regarding hourly pay or millage. I would be...

    Advice to Management

Treat all employees fairly and with respect. Let employees work to their potential and your company will grow exponentially. Be aware of the unfair labor practices in your company and correct them. Be the company you describe in your Mission Statement.

I worked at Convergence Marketing full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Good hard work for great lines and vendors. I love building relationships with vendors!

    Cons

Complete lack of organization. Stores scheduled 2-4 hours apart rather than completing one town or city at time and wasting 2-3 hours of the merchandisers drive time only to not ever see reimbursement for those expenses. My 1st day I worked 16.5 hours and it took 6 weeks to get a paycheck. Then the check wasn't even for half of the hours I worked. I'm a mother of 4 kids and I have to feed my family. It is a little hard...

    Advice to Management

Hire skilled leaders who coordinate working teams of merchandisers in specific sections of the state rather than doing one store 95 miles from the nearest merchandiser one day and then 150 miles in the opposite direction the next. I've been called to go to one store 45 minutes from my home on night at 9:30pm only to arrive the next morning to find that the schedule was changed an hour later to a store 2 hours north and...
