I have been working at Convergence Marketing part-time for less than a year

    Pros

Work independently from your home, never have a boss hovering over you, work with different people all the time, competent regional managers who seem to care for their team, variety of tasks which are usually straight forward and occasionally fun; decent pay and standard mileage compensation; nice team members (when working in teams)

    Cons

Regional managers are way over-loaded and seem like they are not given enough notice from upper management about upcoming work- during peak times, schedules are often not set until the last second. This results in many employees having to turn down work at the last minute due to other commitments, which in turn makes the schedule even harder to set and keep. During non-peak times, hours are completely unreliable...sometimes...

    Advice to Management

Get up to speed with technology, give your managers more help and support during peak times, offer better mileage compensation than competitors to get and retain better merchandisers

I worked at Convergence Marketing for less than a year

    Pros

Ability to set your own hours as long as assignments were completed by scheduled date, flexibility with scheduling and needing time off, decent starting hourly wage, not having to report in to an office, flexibility with dress-code.

    Cons

Travel pretty much 95% of the time with NO mileage reimbursement unless it is more than 45+ miles from your home address. You're responsibile for printing out all the necessary paperwork for each and every assignment, which can vary from one page to 25 pages. After completeing the assignment, you have to report your work pretty much ASAP and have 24 hours to scan and upload copies of your paperwork to the company website....

    Advice to Management

1.Invest in an iPad, iPod, tablet or something for employess to expedite the reporting process!!!!! 2.Team up all new hires with a team lead for a couple of weeks so they can be trained properly, instead of just throwing them out into the lions den. 3. PAY MILEAGE!!!!

I have been working at Convergence Marketing

    Pros

Good team lead and enjoyable team. Like the satisfaction of completing project work. Very busy when on site. Sometimes work independently. Take into consideration days off needed.

    Cons

Very little training given. Communication from corporate can be delayed. Missing parts or incorrect plan o gram.

    Advice to Management

Have at least one or two days of hands on training. Instead of just expecting team lead to train while on site.

I have been working at Convergence Marketing

    Pros

When I reviewed this company back in September, I mostly enjoyed working for them. I had a good area manager (still have her) and the work was somewhat plentiful (which it still is). The work I've done has mostly been either one of two things: resets for cosmetics (or for gift cards in convenience stores) or continuity work in box stores. At times there are projects (like around Halloween or Christmas). I'm not sure...

    Cons

The company has changed their policy for travel and I know that my manager seems to feel she tries her best to get her reps a "fair" rate. But to me it isn't fair that what used to be a $50 trip now pays $35....or a $75 trip pays $60. If my husband and I traveled together to do cosmetic resets, we each got the $50 for the trip even though we shared one vehicle. This last time, I received $41 ($35 plus a bit for travel...

    Advice to Management

Rethink your travel incentive for reps who travel a lot. I understand that you need to tighten expenses somewhere but this was not the way to do it. To the people considering this company: If you're going to stay in your own little town and just do work there - then Convergence is ok to work for. My area manager is great at communication and she's awesome to work with. But if you are willing to travel because...
