    I worked at Convergys full-time

    Pros

Only work for Convergys if you are desperate for employment and have no self esteem.

    Cons

The pay is awful, and the managers are purposely selected to lead employees with more qualifications, which is a guarantee for failure, low morale, and class action lawsuits. The CEO has a bachelor degree; some of the agents have Master's level degrees and PhDs. The Site Leaders and Ops Managers lack spelling and grammar proficiency, and promote employees who suck up to them. There are far too many layers of management, hence the low pay for entry level and mid-level positions. Management are not qualified and most phone agents are overly qualified, so expect professionalism and usually end up suing the company when their valid complaints go unresolved.

    Advice to Management

You're probably in your position because you are not talented, so you should stay while you can because 'real' companies likely won't hire you.

    Pros

    Ugh! Are you Kidding Me!

    Cons

I felt as if I was thrown into the land of Misfits and Circus Freaks! Nothing was structured. If perks or incentives were promised they are taken away at will. They pile on Intuit customer support programs without or very little training. Don't Go There You Will Be So Sorry!

    Advice to Management

    Keep doing what you're doing

I worked at Convergys full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

I'm really not sure what to put for pro, if you don't care about helping the customers and are okay with supervisors yelling at you across the call center floor to hurry up and get off the call...then I guess it's a good match for you.

    Cons

They are all about their stats and collecting money from the customer. They will tell you it's a Customer service position but actually collections.

    Advice to Management

Make sure that your hiring staff is honest during interviews!

I worked at Convergys full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

My co-workers were awesome. The were an excellent resource. Most were friends and allies. Many are college graduates who, like me, were stuck in a call center due to a bad economy.

    Cons

Close, dirty, cramped quarters. Desk sharing. Inadequate facilities and inadequate parking. Strict zero tolerance policies. If they see a cellphone or if you access the internet, you're as good as gone without warning. You feel like a prisoner and they treat everyone like criminals. The only jobs worth having are team lead or manager because at least they are treated as a sub-humans.

    Advice to Management

Lighten up. Never correct or discipline an employee in front of co-workers. Hire a better cleaning staff and quit skimping on resources like desks, chairs, cubicles, parking spaces, etc. Never fire an employee for a first offense violation.
