I have been working at Convergys full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

I have enjoyed working at Convergys. The overall company has many good people working for them. I have enjoyed working there due to Management Style and Team Members. Overall they were fair and honest. They have great benefits for you and your family.

    Cons

Convergys provided 60 day notice to advised they were shutting down their brick and mortar centers in 3 locations in Utah. I believe they could have done more to keep projects moving forward in these locations. Keeping competition healthy in the community. Instead they gave up in the 3 locations. Sad as many good people were forced to move to other companies when they enjoyed working for Convergys.

    Advice to Management

Keeping competitve in the market. Asking the employees (aka as Inside Customer Service) of what Convergys could have done different to keep qualified good employees still working inside their own communities.
Stop focusing with moving outside the United States and opening Call Center there and paying lower wages.

I have been working at Convergys full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

It is a fun, caring environment to work, and the management made everyone feel valued

    Cons

Convergys is closing their Ogden and Orem branches and they don't give references, and the people who've been here 30 years are getting nothing more than those who've been here 1 or 2 years.

    Advice to Management

    Honor loyalty from your employees.

I worked at Convergys (Less than a year)

    Pros

Extensive training, has benefits, hires almost exclusively from within. Better than most call centers.

    Cons

Its a call center. There is a heavy push on up selling.

    Advice to Management

I realize it will never happen, but sales should be dropped. Business support should be solving problems, not socially engineering people.

I worked at Convergys full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Co-workers are focused on helping each other and make coming to work enjoyable.
    Short training period

    Cons

Pay's less than other call centers in the area.
Promotions are based on who you're related to or who you're having relationships with.
They pick and choose who the rules apply to.
Good supervisors are moved to other failing locations, the bad ones stay.

    Advice to Management

Complete restructuring of upper management is crucial but at this point I don't believe the location will last.
Get rid of techno-phobia and update systems; tracking sales with pen and paper wastes too much time and is archaic.
Don't berate employee's that are loyal and have low attendance problems. Having supervisors degrade employee's on the call floor and addressing everyone as, "a worthless and lazy bum" will only continue to cause attendance problems and ensure high turnover.

I worked at Convergys full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Some nice coworkers, decent hours, don't miss days and you will see a pay increase in sep of .40 cents, growth is possible if you work hard

    Cons

Some leadership isn't that great. Lack of training for some who have never done customer service, projects can change so no real job security and if you leave for another job the bonus you EARNED will not be paid to you unless you stay until it pays out the following month. And there is lots of favoritism

    Advice to Management

Train better, treat everyone the same

I worked at Convergys full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Parking was adequate. Recruiters were attentive and helpful. Commute is easy and grounds kept nicely.

    Cons

Not handicap accessible. You have to have a doctor ask for reasonable accommodation to use the secured handicap entrance. Call floor is very loud. Supervisors and leads go up and down aisles screaming. I had one break my eardrum. You get free directv and are told if you quit or are fired you have so many days to cancel but you follow these instructions and ask to cancel within the agreed time frame and they ignore it, put you in a contract without your consent, making you stuck directv for a couple years. Not allowed to take notes in training, or even take materials home to study. Feels like you're being herded and trampled in a cattle drive. Then they send you home one day with no warning and say they'll call you. A month later they leave you voicemail that you're fired and you are stumped as to why. Pay is very low. I went to wayfair and got $6 more an hour.

    Advice to Management

If you want quality employees that are loyal, you need too pay them more and treat them better. Quit blaming your policies and behavior on the client. I'm not surprised you just lost Directv account and in fact, predicted it.
