I have been working at Conversica full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Foster City office is sweet! Like the colors and its great seeing everyone on the 12th floor. Like the new look and flat screens in the conference rooms. The energy is positive, smiles and things are moving on the up and up. Enjoy the team work, food, and sense of urgency to win by the team.

    Cons

Going through growing pains. Need more tools.

    Advice to Management

Continue with all hands meetings and sharing company outlook and performance. Visit other site locations. Continue messaging positive changes in the organization and transparency is key.

I worked at Conversica full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great team that was fun to work with and generally a smart crew

    Cons

As with all startups/ new divisions within companies, processes were constantly being reevaluated and changed- this can also be viewed as a positive.

    Advice to Management

No advice to new management as it seems like things are working

I have been working at Conversica full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The pros depend on which role or team you become a part of. If its Marketing you might be alright since we recently brought on a new CMO. If you are applying for Sales then keep reading. Luckily the company has two sides to the business (Automotive and Tech). And if you ask me, the only reason the company is still around is because of the Auto Team. They have their own leadership and tbh they are pretty cool. But...

    Cons

The CEO is very weird. The guy walks out of his office and takes pictures of the Sales Floor!! If you see him by the elevator, he will walk away and take another one up to avoid the 10 second ride with you. Do not be fooled. Pretty high tun over on reps.

    Advice to Management

Management is constantly harassing reps and it has become out of hand. Comments and jokes get way out of hand and people have taken offense to what has been said.

I worked at Conversica full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

-Great view in HQ -Catering 3 times a week (like others have mentioned)

    Cons

-Micromanagers -A passive aggressive management team -Product isn't as good as sales say it is -Deceptive/manipulating work culture -Great concept of AI, but unfortunately the product has a ton of limitations -Stay away from this company even if you only want to get experience- (you'll walk away with a negative experience and bad habits)

    Advice to Management

-Eat some humble pie and address the issues that have been around for years- -Stop overselling the dream- -Stop overselling to recruit talent- -If you want top talent I'd recommend changing your culture-

I have been working at Conversica full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Incredible support from upper-level management! Clear goals and objectives and amazing candor from CEO. Each employee is valuable and contributes greatly to the company's success since we are fast-growing and still in startup mode. That being said, we have great incentives and perks!

    Cons

Foster City, CA location: Growing pains that come with a start-up environment; IE, be prepared for shifts in processes to support ever-changing business needs. Many new faces all the time, some turnover as we navigate toward ideal recruiting process and hiring profiles. Longer hours at times with lower headcounts but rewards follow efforts invested. Warning more than a con; we are south of SF and commuter benefits are...

I have been working at Conversica full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Catered food 3x week Free downtown parking Young inviting coworkers Company, department, and team bonding (and happy hours!) Awesome rewards (bonuses and incentives) Room for growth with team and department Exciting technology and huge potential for industry wide growth

    Cons

Rapid growth causes growing pains young company needing more documentation to scale at current pace location doesn't allow for best hired talent Not fast enough to kick underachievers to the curb Too slow to give raises to dedicated employees

    Advice to Management

Hire faster, and hire better. Too often the team gets pulled down by immature bad apples that make everyone else's lives harder. Fix the performance review cycle to be more organized and wrangle your sales team in..they need to be more accountable.

    Pros

Great benefits and delicious free food

    Cons

The higher-ups are interested in maintaining a minimum-viable-product and making it sell. This company isn’t doing exciting work in the AI or NLP space, so if you’re hoping to work on interesting problems, look elsewhere.

    Pros

    - free food 3x a week - not much outside of that

    Cons

    - Team leads aren't very good at their jobs because their too busy playing politics - unrealistic expectations set by sales in which the CSM's are held accountable - Sales lies a-lot to customers in how the platform functions and then over bloats the expectations - if you are a CSM you are left holding the bag in terms of the mess that Sales makes and no one cares. This is an extremely backwards company in how...

I worked at Conversica full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Fun, high-speed atmosphere; opportunities for innovation. Strong team dynamic. Able to identify emerging markets for their technology. Very generous with perks like free lunch every day, fun outings on Friday evening. Fond, fond memories of this place, and I would recommend despite the cons (below).

    Cons

The cons are minor: Growth pains moving from startup to medium-sized firm created tension in the culture. Mid-mgmt was green, sometimes overly focused on little things that caused more harm than good; too much babysitting and unfounded paranoia.

    Advice to Management

Keep your eyes on the big picture.
