I have been working at Cooper Tire & Rubber (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Cooper Tire pays a decent salary.

    Cons

You have to put in a lot of extra hours at Cooper, sometimes you will work 7 days a week for several months straight.

    Advice to Management

It would be good to have a floating supervisor to fill in when you are short handed.

I have been working at Cooper Tire & Rubber full-time

    Pros

Relaxed, low-pressure work environment. Long hours are uncommon and rarely mandatory. Friendly, family-type corporate culture. Management cares about employee growth and development. Located in a low cost of living area.

    Cons

Small town location does not provide a lot of options for entertainment and social life outside of work. Management seems to be intent on maintaining a policy of "we pay less than average." Not a suitable culture for serious high achievers given pay and work ethic philosophy. Can be hard to get things done when everyone goes home at 5.

    Advice to Management

Get closer to pay parity to attract and retain high-performing people who can be change agents. Consider other policies that will improve retention.
