    Pros

the pay for those that have worked there for a long period

    Cons

Cancer death rates, long work hours, not treated with respect, poor insurance, has gone downhill steadily for the past 20 years.

    Advice to Management

Should need a college course in how to handle workers with respect.

I worked at Cooper Tire & Rubber full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

No pros if you work there except for the fact that people who do the ground work are far better people than top management.

    Cons

Poor top management decisions and vision statement is fake and not followed by anyone. This company cannot go global because they have no ethics, even working with senior managers. Be a lier and you will win in this company. No growth opportunity as very flat organization. Please work for a startup than for Cooper Tires.

    Advice to Management

Change your management style and please hire people with ethics on the top roles. Pay people their dues and do not play with somebody hard earned money.

I have been working at Cooper Tire & Rubber full-time

    Pros

memories of how things used to be...employees long for management of years gone by that knew what they were doing

    Cons

management constantly seeking ways to take more from employees...especially non union plant...management says that don't want unions but prove they work...steal pensions and benefits from profitable plant and give to less productive plants...example for one particular job pay is 28.00 and 30.00 dollars at union plants and 10.20 non union...also twice as much produced from non union with half the people

    Advice to Management

reward those that keep the company afloat

    Pros

Cooper was once a great company to work for. They cared about their employees.

    Cons

The LIES they tell. No communication with employees about buyout. Cooper has had this "deal" with Apollo Tyre for years and have kept their employees out of the loop. We will be out of work as soon as Cooper Tire is acquired by Apollo Tyre. Where will 1100 workers be without a job?

    Advice to Management

Try putting yourselves in our shoes....our families.

I have been working at Cooper Tire & Rubber full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Pay is still good for those with more time in the plant. Great people to work with on the floor level

    Cons

Many supervisors do not respect the workers. Work schedule is not conducive to family life or other things outside of work. Upper management has no touch with the reality of what goes on on the floor level. Newer employees are not allowed full pay. Ever. High cancer rate among workers. Machinery not kept in safe conditions to work with. Many workers are not properly trained for their jobs.

    Advice to Management

I believe upper management should work on the floor to see what their decissions actually do to the workers.

    Pros

    Cons

Exploits employees and does not pay well. Lot of broken process and an old boys club mentality. Cannot trust the management at all.

    Advice to Management

Take care of your employees and create trust.

I worked at Cooper Tire & Rubber full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Flexible schedule, good luck finding anything besides this positive to say about the company.

    Cons

Company leadership is 100% "Good ol Boy" club. Diversity and Inclusion is non-existent. If you are a monority of any kind do not put yourself through the hassle and unequal treatment environment and culture there. Work systems and methodologies are at least 20 years behind the time. They say SAP but the system is garbage as the company did not invest in Reporting the SAP system is bare bones and majority of work is still through manual spreadsheets. No work life balance. Rules for some and guidelines for others mentality. Very much an age and race based corporation that has no intention of changing and making their work environment more diverse. Amazed to see this culture still exist in 2014. The leadership at the Findlay plant have no people skills, and only hire their friends. They pay for some people's education, and do not let them move up or utilize their skills. You can NOT be a critical thinker if you want to succeed here, be a dependent learner, do as little as possible, screw up as much as you can and you're guaranteed to get a promotion.

I have been working at Cooper Tire & Rubber full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Knowledgeable workers in the tire business (some with 30+ years of experience). Bonuses.

    Cons

Salary is much lower than average. Culture is behind (no willingness to change, lack of accountability, trying to do too much at once, lask of resources to get things done, everything takes a very long time to complete, no IT support, no support from management, "buddy" culture for promotions where you will get left behind unless you have the right connections or golf, fish, or hunt with the right people, all take and no give).

    Advice to Management

Put your money where your mouth is and do what you say you'd do
