I worked at Copart full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Family Oriented, lots of overtime, Very busy so day goes by fast. Monday - Friday 8am-5pm company. (or at least those are supposed to be the work hours.)

    Cons

Not able to leave at 5pm even though the office is technically closed, because every assignment that was received that day has to be called on.

    Advice to Management

Tell every new employee that is hired what is expected of them. Not pick and choose who follows the rules and who don't have to. Don't be scared to ask another Copart for help when you need it.

I worked at Copart full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Loved the job duties, how fast paced it was, learning something new everyday and most customers/drivers. Holidays/birthdays are always fun and occasionally buying lunch for everyone.

    Cons

In smaller offices coworkers can be backstabbing, management shows favoritism and are unaccommodating. Not a family friendly job, and never give you'll only receive criticism. Never acknowledge for the good work that you do.

    Advice to Management

Get more formal training on how to manage small and/or large offices instead of promoting based solely on seniority.

    Pros

Company supports celebrating the staff, I also like how they care about what I think. We have the ability to post our ideas / suggestions on an internal web site that all employees company wide can see and add comments if they wish.

    Cons

It takes a while to learn the operating system and processes, especially all the one off requirements from the sellers.

    Advice to Management

Continue to focus on the staff and looks for ways to improve our operating system.

I worked at Copart full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Copart is always hiring.... if you're that desperate.

    Cons

Where do I begin.....TOXIC, unhealthy and horrible work environment.
SERIOUSLY underpaid for the amount of daily work you need to do and all the nasty attitudes of the people you deal with on a daily basis both externally & internally.
Your work is never good enough. No holidays.
HR does not support, work for you or protect you at all-they're comeback is what could YOU have done better in the situation instead of addressing the issue at hand or the individual.
Management is horrendous and pathetic at the yard I was at and is only worried about how you make them look to the Regional.
For an online auto auction company the system that their employees are forced to use is so archaic and outdated it's hilarious.

    Advice to Management

    Get a clue, seriously!
The lack of communication is comical and embarrassing from management.
Clear line between management and staff which can be observed on a daily basis.
Listen to your employees and what they are saying is happening at the yard level and actually DO something about it.
The staffing model blows, everyone in management knows how busy the office gets. Hire more people instead of watching your employees struggle and then ask them why.
