I worked at Copart as an intern (More than a year)

    Pros

Experience working in a corporate workplace with a "corporate" culture.

    Cons

Don't seem to hire interns. A lot of petty talking behind the back.

I worked at Copart full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

It's a job, so income is steady but not enough.

    Cons

I worked for Copart Orlando for years as a title Clerk. They did not care about their employees. They initiated a "no talk policy" because the volume of titles that were being received could not be handled in the time allotted for a full work day with the staff that they had. They made you work from 7-7 Monday through Saturday and possibly Sunday if the titles were complete. People with small children were written up for having to leave and pick their child up from school or even leaving because of exhaustion, college and wanting to spend time with their families. The manager is very selfish and only thinks about herself. The managers under her are her puppets. None of the managers have children so they don't understand the importance of family so they treat the employees that have children and families as if they don't. HR came out to the facility to visit and NOTHING was done. So many employees have complained about this treatment and nothing is EVER done!!! The employees are still made to work extremely long hours, still not allowed to talk and are still on mandatory overtime. So many employees have left including myself because of how they treat and talk to people. They do not believe in promoting within and there is NO room for growth!! The pay is horrible, imagine working at a job for years and only getting raises in increments of 20 cents. RIDICULOUS. Please do not do it!!

    Advice to Management

Care more about your employees. Hear them out, if there is an issue solve it appropriately. Your employees are adults not children and should not be treated as such. Realize the value and the importance of family. If you guys knew how to treat people maybe the employee turnover at Copart would not be so high. An investigation needs to be done at Landstreet Copart in Orlando, Florida. But if HR doesn't even care about how their employees are treated I wouldn't imagine the managers would!!

    Pros

Benefits are pretty good. Stock is valuable. Take advantage of purchasing company stock at a discount. It split recently.

    Cons

The CEO's rating on this site was low, low and now it's relatively "OK". There's no telling what these sneaky people did to boost it. Keep that in mind. The CEO walked past my desk multiple times a day and spoke to me maybe twice in over a year.

    Advice to Management

    Women deserve respect.

    Cons

Working out in the elements, mediocre pay, expensive healthcare, overtime if you don't like it.

    Advice to Management

Hire enough staff in yard and in office, you're burning your employees out. Pay more, better benefits, yearly bonuses to all staff--you have a very profitable company.

    I worked at Copart full-time

    Pros

Get to meet some interesting customers

    Cons

Management was very deceptive when it came to the interview. Promised a lot of things but delivered on none.
Did the work of an entire crew and was told that "people don't think that anything gets done" by me. (Ran a sub yard all by myself)
No team atmosphere, but a lot of back stabbing.
Office manager was a bully, as she'd yell and belittle office staff in front of customers and other employees.
Management does some very shady things like hiding vehicles for customers that were to be repossessed by a larger competitor auction for non payment, and then removing any race of them from the records.

    Advice to Management

Hire more competent and ethical leadership. Be open and honest to your employees. Remove the managers that bully people around.
Understand what your competition is doing. Stop treating your account reps like they are idiots. Just because you landed a big account doesn't mean that you can walk all over them
