I worked at Copper Mountain full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great people, fun work environment, good company values, and people genuinely care about creating a good guest experience. Good benefits (health, dental, vision) for year-round employees.

    Cons

Low pay (to be fair, this is standard for ski resorts as a whole), front line employees (lift operators and F&B especially) are taken for granted sometimes, and there's not very much opportunity for upward mobility and management roles at the resort as a whole. Senior management folks on the Resort Leadership Team (RLT) are lifers, most of them with 30+ years under their belt.

    Advice to Management

Be more accommodating and supportive of front line employees. NOT with Front Line Assist shifts for salaried employees, but with better scheduling and resources that they need to succeed. These guest-facing employees are the ones who make the resort the awesome place that it is.

I worked at Copper Mountain part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Ski Pass and Discount on retail

    Cons

Supervisor's and upper management pick and choose who they like. It doesn't matter how good you are at your job, the Supervisors are very judgmental and if they don't like you they will try to get you to quit and if that doesn't work, they will find a way to terminate you. They will add things to your file so they can terminate you. Housing and pay are horrible for what they expect from you and the cost you pay for housing. I would not recommend working lift ops at copper mtn.

    Advice to Management

Take a good look at current supervisor's. There is definitely a couple that should not be in that position. Supervisor's should be positive and lead by example not the other way around. They shouldn't be allowed to call us degrading names, make us feel worthless or retarded. Maybe if you revaluate the kind a supervisor's you have running lift ops and weed them out, the suicide rate might go down

I worked at Copper Mountain full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Ride breaks on your lunch breaks and a lot of fun. Employees come and go a lot so if your a good hard worker you can move up quick.

    Cons

you're not making much money and like any ski resort, there are definitely some crazies that get hired

    Advice to Management

raise the hourly wage and you will attract people with a better work ethic who can afford to live and work there.
