I have been working at Copper River Shared Services full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Opportunities abound - experienced engineers, high level certifications .
Past performance experience and patner relations across network engineering and security aligns well to every growing cyber market.
Loyal customers, federal and commercial, with high satisfaction levels.
Experienced program managers, professional services, and back office support.
Fun, vibrant office environment with great people.
    Good benefits.

    Cons

No Micro Management - if you need to be told what to do and when to do it - RUN, do not walk.
Process improvements needed in a couple of areas to eliminate redundancy.
    Remote office location(s).

    Advice to Management

Continue to invest in the right people - and back office systems.

    Pros

Great people at the site with strong backgrounds
    Onsite leadership is accessible
Feeling of company identity and "one team" is developing
    Company footprint is expanding
Excellent hours and flexibility for those who know their positions will not require on-call service

    Cons

    Mission creep
Opportunities for growth or lateral movement limited
Changes in policies after expectations are set
    Dress code is too strenuous

    Advice to Management

    Keep client expectations reasonable
    Promote more opportunities internally
Benefits elections take too long to go into effect

I worked at Copper River Shared Services full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Decent benefits, easy to become a PM because people constantly leave, I have no other pros to mention.

    Cons

Disorganized, no direction, went through 5 program managers in 1 year - most of whom were unqualified and had no idea what they were doing, management constantly blaming staff and subcontractors for their lack of delivery and organization, would rather put a band aid on major issues than actually address them to improve client delivery, lack of any real processes.

    Advice to Management

Clear out non-performers and hire staff who know how to manage programs effectively. Lose the holier than thou attitude. Allow staff to do their jobs without worrying about underhanded political BS.
