I have been working at Core Laboratories full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Great benefits, holiday pay, 401K, etc.

    Cons

The work atmosphere here could be improved. Too many chiefs and not enough Indians. Only way to get ahead is if you are buddy buddy with someone.

    Advice to Management

    Pay raises for employees

I worked at Core Laboratories full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Benefits.. maybe??? Experience in oilfield. Lots of networking opportunities.

    Cons

Always gone on the road. Feels more like a truck driver job than scientist. irregular hours; when core is up, you're up. 95 % outdoors at the elements' mercy. Office environment is worse than 10th grade high school with all the politics and inappropriate interpersonal relations. Plenty of nepotism and hiring friends. Plenty of favoritism. Unequal opportunity and extremely hard to get ahead. All advancement opportunity,...

    Advice to Management

Maintain a friendly work environment. Use people to their skills and potential rather than favor select few. In every single business ethics text or HR text there is a statement along the lines of : "Happy employees = Productive Employees = Profitable Company"

I worked at Core Laboratories full-time for more than a year

    Pros

The building is fairly new and you get to have your own cubicle.

    Cons

Management doesn't care about their employees and will make money any way they can. People who are new hires are getting paid more than people who have been there for years. The equipment and machines are always breaking down, and instead of paying for new equipment, management will try to use old parts from even older machines (and it still won't work).
