I have been working at Corgan full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great benefits, plenty of snacks & beers, great view of Manhattan. Great location. Everyone is easy going so there isn't any office drama/gossip. Great company for Entry level designers.

    Cons

Boring, dull office environment. Lack of motivation by Mgmt so the staff always seems depressed and overworked. I would love to see more POC in positions besides the Admins. It seems Corgan has focused on only hiring Architects/Designers of Asian descent. The salary is low. Low raises despite taking on a larger work load.

    Advice to Management

Please be more attentive to your employee’s needs. There has been an abundance of employees leaving or transferring from the NY office simply because they are not happy. The office no longer feels like a family but a sad factory.

I have been working at Corgan full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

No micro management, great place for a self motivated individual, lots of growth opportunities.

    Cons

Difficult to be break into established "clicks"; backstabbing of team members used as a means of self promotion. Management not directly involved in day to day work activities; seen as "overhead" instead of "project revenue"

    Advice to Management

establish clear criteria / goals and hold all accountable. Encourage direct discussion between individuals and managers to discourage backstabbing and complaining. Establish clear reward system so that compensations are related to achieving goals and not seen as favoritism. Critically review the amount of firm overhead and reduce to make the firm more efficient and sustainable.

I worked at Corgan full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Lot's of good work, great support, good office, fun people.

    Cons

The team structure is very rigid and there are some positions that have much less potential for advancement.

    Advice to Management

If you come to Corgan in the middle of your career, you might find yourself being skipped over by younger and less qualified staff that went from summer interns to new graduate hires, etc. Advancement decisions should be peer-reviewed between team leadership to make sure qualified people aren't overlooked.

I have been working at Corgan full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good culture. Good mentorship. Great opportunities available if you are willing to seek them out and take on more responsibility than you might feel comfortable with at first.

    Cons

Some projects still lack design direction. Design dialogue and culture has gotten stronger over the years. Recent high profile projects will continue to expand Corgan's reputation as a design leader in the industry.

    Advice to Management

Continue to remain transparent in studio management direction. "Open door" policy remains one of the key components of keeping an open and transparent relationship between upper management/ leadership and the staff.

    Pros

The culture at this company is hands down the best company culture I have personally experienced, and I have worked in various fields and companies. Corgan truly cares about their employees and wants them to progress within the company.

The bond between everyone in my office as a whole is very inspiring, and I always feel like a part of the team. Each person in my location is extremely smart, capable, friendly, and ahead of the curve.

The company has a multitude of respectable projects, and take pride in providing the best environment possible for the client. Corgan is a company that I plan to remain for as long as possible, and based on other's track records, I will be here for years to come.

    Cons

There are no cons that I have been able to think of.

    Advice to Management

Keep rockin' it! Thank you for all that you do.

I have been working at Corgan full-time

    Pros

Great environment and great coworkers. Fast paced projects mean a lot of early responsibility and exposure to the full range of the construction process.

    Cons

Not all projects are created equal. Very easy to get trapped in a loop of repeating the same design over and over.
