I have been working at Corinex Communications full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

The people that work here are great! Many dedicated and definitely hardworking members of the team. Interesting and innovative technology, I get to work on new things and learn a lot. Love the monthly birthday cake and fitness subsidy. I believe that Management makes an effort to reward its employees.. I've had 2 bonuses for working overtime and meeting my deadlines and my salary is in line with what other people...

    Cons

Would be nice to have direct deposit sometime in the future, also would be nice to have more team building. I hear that we will be hanging out in the boardroom on Fridays, very much looking forward to that.

    Advice to Management

Thank you for the bonuses, definitely nice to be appreciated. Also appreciate the extra office closures and all that you do. I realize people will go online always to complain so I wanted to bring a little positivity to a world that only sees the negative without counting blessings. I appreciate that my pay is always on time. If any advice, would be for direct deposit but it's not a big deal as I deposit through an...

I worked at Corinex Communications full-time

    Pros

    Working downtown on Georgia Street.

    Cons

Owner/President lacks current foresight. High turnover rate of employees.

    Advice to Management

People who don't know how-to hire the appropriate minds. I met some engineers in the UAE at a conference, I'm glad I didn't bring them on-board. Get your HR department in order. First offices were cramped; second offices were falling apart. Third, who knows. If I could give a "zero" for Senior Management, I would.

It seems that by mistake this review belongs to another company. We didn't attend any UAE conference and our offices are in a Class A building next to the Shangri-La. Our CEO is the technical lead of Prime Alliance BPL Task Force, leading worldwide standardization of broadband ...

    No opinion of CEO

I worked at Corinex Communications full-time for less than a year

    Pros

    - Flexible hours - Locality - Sport subvention - Co-workers are nice - Cake once a month for birthdays - Autonomy

    Cons

    - Compensation package is really light (no vision coverage, no transit pass, 2 weeks holidays, overtime (weekends) is not paid x1.5 but x1) - Clock-in/Clock-out even if you're on salary - Salary not terrible but below average (compared to Vancouver market) - 95% of the R&D is Chinese and speak Chinese at work. If you don't speak/understand the language get ready for some very lonely days. You can literally spend...

    Advice to Management

    - Don't let people go when their co-workers value their work, and when lower management needs more people. - Please, sit down one day and draft some processes for the team to follow, put some structure in the project management and product delivery procedures - Hire a software architect to put some structure in the code - Look into Agile - Make people speak english/hire more diversity and ask management to lead by...

    Corinex Communications Response

    January 15, 2019CEO

I worked at Corinex Communications full-time for less than a year

    Pros

-Small number of employees -good package

    Cons

-A one man show company, CEO owns it, that's it, if he is gone, literally the company will shut down the following day! -although the company size is too small, +30, but the employee turnover is crazy -Micromanagement is crazy, lack of trust, CEO has to review emails before sending it out

    Advice to Management

1-You hire smart people to tell you how to run the business, not to push them follow your way otherwise will be kicked out. 2-Delegation, Delegation and Delegation. the key word to build a powerful team and get the benefits and the speed of Trust.

I have been working at Corinex Communications full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Technology solution that is aligned well with Smart Grid communications. The historical lessons learned from their initial developments and deployments, is being leveraged towards this worldwide growing market, which has generated more IP patents. The overall acceptance by 'countries' instead of 'utilities' directly, cements the fact that Corinex's strategy is progressing and growing. Monthly birthday cakes, quarterly...

I have been working at Corinex Communications full-time

    Pros

Being an employee of this company, which ranked 70th fastest growing technology company in North America let me feel proud. The environment in the office is like what it has been ranked, the R&D guys are very active to do the research and improve the function and performance of the products - that’s why the company is growing fast, and also the R&D guys are growing fast too. The colleagues are nice, and they value...

I have been working at Corinex Communications full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

I have been working at Corinex for over 5 years. What attracts me the most is the cutting edge technology that it produces and the ability to literally change the world with it. There are some very big changes occurring in the world of Smart Grids, and Corinex can have a massive influence. The workplace and job is challenging, which is great when you are pushed to succeed. Office politics - like most businesses, there is a struggle to minimize office politics. Micromanagement - the office culture needs to learn how to delegate work in a correct manner.

Less micromanagement - when you trust your team and colleagues, you form a powerful bond that helps you work and communicate more effectively. Reward the employees who contribute positively to the company growth and culture.
