    Pros

Great pay. Provided students the opportunity to have an education who otherwise would not have been able to enter college.

    Cons

Little more stable leadership. Leadership was always in transition because of the demands placed on the college, it was difficult to identify a leader that could turn the ship around.

    Advice to Management

Transparency is very important to faculty, staff, and students. That should always be a top priority no matter how difficult the times.

    Approves of CEO

    Pros

The CEO was the living embodiment of integrity. There were some really amazing people who used to work here. The values were real and they mattered to a select few, and it was great working with those people. The mission of the company was spot on.

    Cons

Middle management was like a cancer of poor decision making abilities and a proclivity to corruption. Not enough people doing the right thing. Poor use of company funds to finance personal trips and entertainment. Improper relationships and behaviors with zero consequences (i.e. going late night clubbing with subordinates and direct reports and then both parties failing to show up to work the next morning and calling in "sick"). No accountability. You could lie, cheat, and steal (and people did), and it would never see a consequence or punishment in the light of day. My heart aches to think of the endless amount of cons because this place used to be great. The founders of this company should still be proud.

    Advice to Management

It's never too late to do the right thing. To the leaders who allowed something amazing crumble to countrywide rubble heaps of broken dreams of more education and a better life, be better tomorrow than you were yesterday. Leadership isn't a position or a title; it's a responsibility to care for the organizational health of the company, the well-being of your people, and to steer the ship straight.

    Pros

    - Nice, committed, hard-working people
    - Nice offices
    - Good pay

    Cons

    - Industry is in a shambles
    - Lots of layoffs/restructuring
    - Too. Many. Meetings! Impossible to get work done when there's at least one meeting a day, the majority of which could be handled via email.

    Advice to Management

Good luck with Zenith. It's clear you want things to go well, but I think the tide has already taken that opportunity away with it.

I worked at Corinthian Colleges (More than 5 years)

    Pros

I work with a good team of analysts. It helped tremendously that our core group had a good manager. The internal customers we served range from executive leadership team to mid-level operations manager. Our group works hard to cope with the volume of work and complexity of the requests. Sorry to disappoint the world ... I never ran into any case where employees were bilking students and taxpayers out of their money ... not even once.

    Cons

Demanding operations management. Not too knowledgeable about their job in the broad sense but probably sufficient in a narrow, i.e. know what button to push to put the fires out but can't tell you why there were so many fires in the first place. Lots of political posturing, hysteria, and tantrums especially when the company began its glide path to oblivion.

    Advice to Management

It's certainly too late now. But try to understand the consequence of trading quality for growth, especially try to understand it when Washington D.C. is targeting the company.

    Pros

There were good people there that did a lot of hard work

    Cons

There was really poor management, which led to a lot of good people leaving.
