I have been working at Corning full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I feel very valued in my job. I see a career beyond the one I was hired for. Benefits of a large company is seeing many jobs for a career. The work is challenging and rewarding. As a company they offer pension and 401k, pride themselves in being a "hire to retire" employer. Many come back after retirement as contractor. Corning invests in its future in R&D more than other companies I've worked for which gives me comfort in knowing they can manage the peeks and valleys that may come over time. They are a very polite company-culture. I've worked in enough other large companies to appreciate Corning. They are one of the few remaining family feel companies who have and take seriously their company values.

    Cons

IT process is a bit behind the times but they are starting transformation now to get up to date in cloud and digital.

I have been working at Corning full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Great pay and benefits including 401K, pension, goal sharing, vacation, and excellent medical. Opportunities for advancement for those that strive for excellence. One of the best paying jobs in the area, most people that are hired on make a career out of it.

    Cons

12 hrs shifts and periods of high overtime where it makes it difficult to plan anything. Can be difficult for families or single parents to find a work life balance at first.

    Advice to Management

Go out of your way to show appreciation to employees. Sometimes just a "Thanks" will do, but reward them if you can for hard work and dedication.
