    Pros

Benefits was ok and location was great

    Cons

Company has been a lot of turn over for the pass 8years and it's getting worse. Our tenants always came first and now it's just about the numbers game.

    Advice to Management

Take care of your employees who help build the company with hard work and loyalty

There are no downsides to working with this company.

I worked at Corporate Office Properties Trust full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

The long time employees who are still there are good people. Flexible work arrangements.

    Cons

3 CEO's in 6 years and numerous reorganizations have caused this company to lose its family feel. The customer, which used to be the number 1 priority, has been pushed behind the shareholders and stock price. Cost cutting and doing more with less is the new norm. Many of the "old guard" leadership has been purged and new management don't share original values.

    Advice to Management

Upper management needs to stop looking at stock price and start looking at the people. Stop trying to act like a larger company then you actually are. There is no originality anymore and people aren't invested like they used to be. For people who have been with the company a long time it is disheartening to see the new direction.

I worked at Corporate Office Properties Trust full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good work-life balance for most. Plenty of opportunities to advance. Financially sound. Good reputation.

    Cons

Change in senior level management in recent years more focused on financials tied to their bonuses than maintaining employee satisfaction. Unfortunately culture has changed.

    Advice to Management

Previous senior managers recognized the importance of employees and their contributions. Happy employees=loyalty and increased work product.

I have been working at Corporate Office Properties Trust full-time

    Pros

Benefits, lunches, employee appreciation events, and team atmosphere (depending on location)

    Cons

Some communication gaps here and there, salary

    Advice to Management

Pay people for what they are worth and cut costs elsewhere. Management should do bottom-top review as well as top-bottom during annual reviews. Senior level management has shifted in the last year or so and the connection from the senior level to the operational level feels distant these days. COPT, in its earlier years, felt more "family" oriented, but as the company grew and newer faces emerged, the "family" feel is not as prevalent. Still a good company, but the intimacy is lacking. Senior leadership is pushing more on operations to do more with less and it is frustrating some days when you have to sit and read report after report and respond to various requests from upper management. Sooner or later it will take its toll on the number one reason COPT has been so successful... it's tenants relationships.

    Pros

at the worker level, good people. Decent suburban product. Happy tenants

    Cons

CEO succession has been brutal. They are eating their young. Company performance really off. "Caring, trust and respect for all" is an empty slogan - it's a highly disrespectful, uncaring and untrustworthy management team.

    Advice to Management

C officers should talk to one another. At COPT, they don't.
