I worked at Cosentino's Market part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Flexible Scheduling, Co-worker are nice people.

    Cons

Poor Pay, Minuscule Hours, Terrible Management, Terrible Uniform, Terrible HR, Dishonest to employees, Department Heads are dishonest to Management.

    Advice to Management

The Cosentino's shouldn't try to lord over everyone like a Mafia family every time they enter a store. They look at you like you are beneath them and single you out if you don't cower in fear of their presence.

I worked at Cosentino's Market full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

People you worked with were generally cool.

    Cons

No bonuses, no benefits, cut hours, no raises. Work there until you find something better. The food was old and not held to food safety standards. Dates on food were fixed as well so old product could be sold as new.

    Advice to Management

Pay your people better and quit micromanaging from the top down.

I worked at Cosentino's Market part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Training is good. There are other areas to go into if you dont like your Department.

    Cons

Alot of them. Managers will fire anyone they dont think is working out instead of trying to talk with them. Favoritism is like the bubonic plague. No benefits except for full time employees. People will talk behind your back and lie about you to higher ups when hours get lowered so they can get more hours by making you look bad.

    Advice to Management

Work with your employees and quit letting brown nosers steal peoples hours and advance to management positions instead of people who actually deserve it.

    Pros

    Very very good Health insurance.

    Cons

No set schedule and bad pay. Cosentinos only care about the money and how to make another penny by cutting more hours. Management only thinks about how to get a better bonus. Even if it means not letting a person be able to put food on their family's plates.

    Advice to Management

Think about others and the price of living today. Common sense this job won't cover it. To the Cosentinos family Quit buying new houses and help me be able to pay my rent. It's not the 80's anymore.

I have been working at Cosentino's Market (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Fairly Flexible, great coworkers usually, has somewhat of a family environment. Being around good coworkers can actually make work fun at times.

    Cons

Corporate offices monitor things like a hawk and often enforce useless or purely bureaucratic policies.
The pay is not good, it has been shown that nearly everyone is disposable as well.
Multiple terminations have occured for issues regarding 50 cents or so.

    Advice to Management

Be more defensive of your own employees, don't just throw longstanding and good employees away. Appreciate them for what they do and maybe they'll become better, a looming and always negative attitude is not good motivation for employees, respect is.

I have been working at Cosentino's Market full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

It's locally owned and job security is strong. People are more likely to quit than be fired. Some flexability with schedule as most open 24 hours & only close for one holiday per year.

    Cons

Greed amongst corporate. Corporate jobs overlap so you've got 4+ people telling you to do the same thing different ways. They don't trust store director to do his job, so everyone has their hand up the back of his shirt. They don't offer competitive pay and raises are slim to none. I've only had 2 raises in five years, both of which i had to ask for.

    Advice to Management

Read People Over Profit!!! Then live it. Eliminate overlapping corporate roles & funnel that extra cash down to store level. Company needs clear direction & mission. Know your competitors but focus on your employees & customers.
