Pros
There's room to move up in the company if you are ruthlessly ambitious. If not, you still get a raise every so often (guaranteed.) Sometimes you get fed as a reward, the work community gets to know each other pretty well. Costco seems to look out for its employees more than most other companies.
Cons
The later you hire on, the longer the gap between raises. Much is asked on a day-to-day basis, without much reward for going out on a limb. If you show initiative, it may be discouraged. If not discouraged, the person supervising you is likely to take credit for your creativity.
