I worked at Costco Wholesale for less than a year

    Pros

The pay beats a lot of other retail and grocery stores and for me made me more happy I was actually making money. Huge perk is that Sundays are time in a half and the company donates alot of food for the employees in the break rooms. If you stay at the company for a long time, you can actually make alot of money and you receive great benefits. However, it takes about 6 years for that to happen, but the benefits are great from the start. For those that do carts, they provide hand and feet warmers as well as food like cookies and drinks. My coworkers were respectful and alot of them had careers before coming to Costco and were successful. I liked how I could do different things while working my shift instead of doing one thing and if you were stuck doing one thing, management was pretty good at listening to you and were flexible on switching. Depending on who was managing, some were good at giving breaks while other managers should of been let go because they stood around watching everyone break a sweat and talked.

    Cons

I didn't enjoy working every weekend and most nights. You stand for majority of your shift.

I have been working at Costco Wholesale full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Start early, get off early. Good pay right out of high school and a great college job as it can pay your tuition and other expenses. Managers tend to be very flexible with students and give you consistent schedules rather than being on call at other jobs or starting at different times. Great benefits as well. If you are uninsured or find it too expensive to afford insurance, Costco has got you covered. 401k plan is a must, so the sooner you start it the better it is. This can be transferrable among different career paths so start now.

    Cons

Will pick the slack up for others if they're not doing their job. New hires can have it bad if they get hired at a location with poor management. Will have to be flexible for the first 90 days as that is your probational period where you have to demonstrate that you are a good fit to the team. Will come across that one folk who's always looking for you to fail, so keep trying and don't give up.

I have been working at Costco Wholesale part-time for more than 10 years

    Pros

They are one of the leaders in pay in retail, have great benefits with an Aetna PPO and give paid holidays off. As an employee you also get a complementary executive card and 3 others for family or friends.

    Cons

Not so much a con but you need to be ready to work in a fast paced environment.
