I worked at Cotiviti full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

You aren't jobless and the bills are getting paid.

    Cons

I'll stick to describing how the IT engineering team works, although the operations side is just as bad.

If you've been working here since long, bringing the company to a respectable position, you're a liability. You created those MS Access behemoths (although you were never given choices), and so you're disqualified from working on the latest dev stacks. The latest dev stack isn't defined at the same time. It was in the CEO's mind, who got fired early this year, and so it went with him 8-}. The middle management has been replaced numerous times since going public. It has been replaced by a clique from Nielsen, since Nielsen itself is on the selling block and all the know nothings can't find any jobs based on skills. HBR can write a case study on nepotism, and this would be a perfect petri dish.

If you do want to work here, you've to be in dire straits. You badly need a visa sponsorship, or you've been rejected from so many other places, or you never graduated beyond coding in VBA. You could also be a gullible recent college grad mesmerized by the fancy recruiting brochure.

If you just need a break, this is a perfect revolving door that will provide a few months of paycheck. You just have to stay ahead of the dreaded and mandatory PIN. Just show all these glassdoor reviews when the next employer asks why you're leaving!

    Advice to Management

If you were stupid enough to not have cashed out in the last 2 sales or going public, it's not too late. Sell what you can and run, because this place is beyond redemption.

I worked at Cotiviti full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I really liked the people I worked with here and some of the low level managers are very good.

    Cons

The engineering department has become very toxic and all the best talent has been leaving. Upper management views engineers as an expense rather than an asset and it shows. They avoid giving out raises and promotions at all costs, hence why so many people have quit. The company pays well below market value salary and upper management refuses to acknowledge this in any way. Horribly outdated technology such as MSAccess is still being used and there is no plan to replace it. I'm sure they must hiring like crazy right now to replace everyone, but DO NOT WORK HERE. It is a trap and you will probably leave in 6 months.

    Advice to Management

Realize that IT is valuable to what the company is doing. You get what you pay for. You are an analytics company and you need to actually invest in engineering.

    - Lack of opportunity for advancement

    Advice to Management

It is obvious that the executive management cares about the employees and the work that we do! The CEO is one of the best.

    Pros

Good benefits, cheap health insurance, really good vision and dental benefits, company is modernizing really quickly

    Cons

In my department there aren't really too many opportunities for moving up or getting promoted. There are a lot of lateral opportunities but yeah

    Advice to Management

Senior leadership is really working hard to transform the company and to improve things for everyone who works here. Since they are working on it, I don't have any advice!
