I have been working at Cott full-time

    Pros

    The location of the plant

    Cons

The only hire the people nestle didn't want anymore.

    Advice to Management

Stop lying to people on here and at work. All the positive reviews were written by upper management to attempt to recruit prospects, but no one will work here. You hire your friends from Nestle and pay outrageous wages to people with no experience and wonder why you cant meet production projections.

I have been working at Cott full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

A fast paced & growing company but stll small enough to feel family oriented. Good people to work with, many of them are long tenured employees with 15+ years. Pay is competitive and benefits are comparable. Lots of opportunities to make improvements in the plant maintenance, production and processes.

    Cons

Fast paced and sometimes hectic operations with minimal downtime can ovework people, lead to mistakes, or cutting corner s. Beverage industry has small profit margins so budgeting can be a challenge and many times you sacrifice things you need like manpower, equipment, etc. Training, continuity and documentation could be greatly improved but with the pace of operations there leaves little time to cover the basics.

    Advice to Management

Allowing more time for on the job training, updating continuity, and documenting processes should lead to more efficents operations and eventually increase production. Cutting the budget so tight monthly may have short term success but will lead to long term failures. Extra manpower will pay dividends in a reduction of overtime costs and improved operations and production.

Cott is a very family oriented company. Management is continuously looking at ways to show value to their employees as we grow as an organization. I am proud to be a member of this organization, a true Employer of Choice!

    Cons

I have been working at Cott (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Cott has been in growth mode since 2014. Through 4 acquisitions, Cott has been afforded to diversify its product line-up, which includes healthier alternatives such as water and organic type beverages. This strategy has allowed the company to expand beyond its historical foot print and aggressively increase market share. However, the co-pack division is the fastest growing part of the company, which has established and will continue to establish long-terms relationships with ‘brand labels’. With growth comes stability and professional opportunities to advance your career. It’s truly an exciting time to join the company!

    Cons

With growth comes growing pains, which is a short term issue. Establish employee appreciation and recognition programs to reward team players and associates who go above and beyond their daily duties.

    Advice to Management

Continue on the current path of growth and diversification. Jerry Fowden, CEO was named 2016 US Entrepreneur Finalist by Ernst and Young, which speaks volumes to the executive management team’s leadership and ingenuity.
