I have been working at Coty for less than a year

      Pros

Beautiful newly renovated campus where you can work at your desk, or take your laptop outside for a relaxing afternoon to work by yourself. There are a good group of individuals who understand the struggle of the organization. Working hours were good, benefits are okay, and the location is nice.

      Cons

Unfortunately there are those who have somehow crawled their way to the top and you should be weary of them. The company has no formal training, there inadequate group of individuals who just expect you to figure things out, and "work like an entrepreneur" basically do not expect to get help from anyone, just read a packet and figure it out. You may get lucky and work with an understanding group or an awful individual...

      Advice to Management

Organize a formal training process for new hires, there are many different systems and processes that no one new, or current has still grasped 100%. HR needs to watch management closely unfortunately there are some individuals who are deceitful and have somehow managed to grow within the organization. These individuals will eventually cause a larger issue within the company. When P&G merged with Coty the brands...

      Pros

PTO Office location in Empire State Building Well known (but rapidly declining) brands

      Cons

Every single consumer beauty brand is in decline Hyper micromanagement Short term tactical decisions encouraged with severe lack of clear long term vision and strategy A lot of people in leadership positions who don’t have a clue what they’re doing but are great at convincing people they do Blame culture High turn over and extremely low morale How can you inspire your team to climb the mountain ahead and turn around...

      Advice to Management

Your people are the drivers of the business and what sets you apart from the competitors, right now everyone’s completely depressed about the way of working and eventually.. you will burn a good employee out. Leaders, be mindful of the impact you’re having on your employees.

Good brands. Lots of vacation/time off (Summer Fridays, week between Xmas and NYE off, PTO, and sick time, federal holidays). Most people are really nice. Good benefits

I have been working at Coty full-time for more than 3 years

      Pros

I used to work with some amazing people but most of them left due to the changes and mounting frustrations.

      Cons

Everything is a rush now. Nothing is ever fully vetted. We jump any time someone from leadership has an idea. People's lives get flipped upside down every few months with constant changes while executives keep getting promoted. Those same leaders constantly gossip about people trying to pit people against each other. When unprofessional situations come up no one takes action. One of the many reasons I chose to leave was...

I worked at Coty full-time for more than a year

      Pros

Generally decent resources i.e. Budget, technology, training etc. Can however be quite corporate for corporates sake (many initiatives are clearly right out of a Harvard business review vs. built on true needs of an employee)

      Cons

Constant change and upheaval. Lack of strategic direction. Middle management is inadequate and therefore Senior management gets involved in decisions they shouldn't need to = too many cooks in the kitchen. No discernible culture expect for an every man for himself mentality.

      Advice to Management

Drive stability....pick a direction and go there.
