I have been working at Coty full-time

    Pros

Great place to work hard and get paid. They identify talent and invest. I’ve never had so much responsibility, and while that comes with some stress, it’s definitely a boost for my career.

    Cons

Too much turnover and negative perception of company. Unhappy employees ruin it for the rest of us. Focus on hiring talented people and getting rid of those who can’t adapt to change.

I have been working at Coty full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Leader in Beauty, Paid Time Off/Summer Fridays

    Cons

Coty is not the same place that it used to be prior to the P&G merger. Top management is rude and does not care about their employees. Also, they pay below industry standards and hire people with no Beauty experience to be heads of Marketing and wonder why Consumer Beauty is struggling so much. Process are broken and morale is low with no end in sight as departments continue to be disbanded or moved to Europe. It has become a very depressing place to work.

    Advice to Management

Value your employees, especially your top performers and provide opportunity! And pay more to attract people that can really drive the business to success!

I have been working at Coty full-time

    Pros

Location of ESB is fairly central. Product. Good name on Resume.

    Cons

Be prepared to work extremely long hours.
Today's modern work environment requires a certain level of maturity and flexibility of employers that should allow more flexible work environments like working from home or remotely especially if 14+ hr work days are required.

    Advice to Management

Find a way to treat employees like grownups so even if non-stop work is required, at least they can be comfortable and choose how to work. It should not matter as long as work is getting done and deliverables are on time and executed with excellence.

I have been working at Coty full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Beautiful office in Calabasas. Great portfolio of brands for those interested in beauty, specifically in the salon professional category. 1/2 day Summer Fridays and several paid vacation days.

    Cons

Horrible options for digital asset management. I cannot believe we are going back to Sharepoint vs. something more efficient like Box or Dropbox. The hierarchical culture. Sub par employees managing to fail forward. Lack of passion or enthusiasm for the professionals we are supposed to serve. Corporate processes that make us followers vs. first to market. Managers that have conversation amnesia. HR doesn’t look out for the employee’s well being. Their role is to prevent the company from getting sued. Make sure to document everything even if things are going well for you.

    Advice to Management

If we are supposed to win in digital, equip us with better digital systems not 17 year old software. Promote employees on merit not on politics. This is a passion driven industry (both hair and nail), but it got lost somewhere in the merger and move. Re-build this and the teams will have a deeper sense of purpose and probably inspire them to think of the next best thing.

I have been working at Coty full-time

    Pros

Good culture, good products, engaging EC, hands on work experience

    Cons

messy processes and systems, SSC Accounting unreliable and not helpful. employees do work outside of their specialization

    Advice to Management

use a more specialized approach: marketing does marketing, Accounting does JEs, Finance does planning and stratey, procurement and central Accounting need to be more helpful, rather than "do it yourself"
