I worked at Coty full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

    - Nothing really. Other reviews here mention benefits but considering the size of COTY.... Benefits are mediocre.
    - Brand recognition

    Cons

    - Leadership is pathetic
    - Zero structure or processes (5 different/useless types of expense reports and they will still pay your CC late, damaging your credit)
    - Too many titles, zero collaboration
    - perfect environment for bullies

    Advice to Management

    Quit!!!!

I worked at Coty (More than a year)

    Pros

People are nice - feels like being around friends, discounts on merchandise

    Cons

I left before the merger and tempted there 6 months, they spend more time hiring and rehiring temps than fulltime employees. There was one HR person there for the entire company while I was there who I had no interaction with.
-My temp assignment got cut short. I was not able to interact with anyone from HR to look into fulltime positons
-worklife was horrible to the point i was forgetting to pay my bills because i was so busy at work.
-My manager wanted me to complete the work, but did not want to give any OT
-temps do not get paid from Christmas to new years when the office is closed
-corporate does nothing to celebrate its employees, every dept was given a choice to hold their own little holilday party among each other or keep the money to add to your budget.

I have been working at Coty full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The pros are the 401k and Summer Fridays

    Cons

I joined Coty as part of the merger with P&G. I had high hopes that the new company would be the "best of both worlds", but unfortunately that is not the reality. I have a lot of experience that I would like to share, but with limited personnel it's all about doing it the Coty way just to get it done. The organization I am part of is experiencing massive turnover and there are likely only 5 people left in our group of 25 that are not brand new.

    Advice to Management

Respect people and listen to diverse points of view before making decisions.

I have been working at Coty full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The pay is okay not high in comparison to the same jobs of other companies.

    Cons

The bottom tier of management is very cold and uneducated. In case of arising any sort of issue, whether regarding people or something technical, they don't know how to handle it therefore often they come off cold and inhumane to the point you can clearly see that they only care to keep their jobs safe. Getting promoted or keeping your job is entirely irrelevant to one's performance as I've seen cases of unfair lay off and a VERY surprising promotion. Overall there's a big gap between management and regular employees and they don't seem to care! I've seen disingenuousness in an obvious mannerism. Don't trust your managers at Coty too easily because they normally have no clue about what they're talking about and there's a clear dissonance undertone in this company. Your emails might be full of spelling errors and false info because that's how uneducated and unsupervised your managers are here. Overall a sloppy company with 0 job security to work for.

    Advice to Management

To the higher executives: Be more maticulous with your management hiring, since they're the face of your company and responsible to whether make your company loved or hated! As they say "people often care whom they work for, rather than what company!"

I worked at Coty full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Summer Fridays, competitive benefits and 401k. A collection of great brands with great potential IF not mismanaged as is happening now.

    Cons

Short term thinking towards the goal of securing bonuses. Massive downsizing happening now leaving insufficient resources to deliver unrealistic business plans. Key technical systems software is a mess.

    Advice to Management

Less reliance on consultants and their advice. After all, employees do the work and will be around long after the consultants collect their checks. Place more value on your people (people and their value to Coty is not even mentioned as a specific value in "the Coty values"). It's not all about the bonus and cost cutting.

    Cons

    - Bad Managers because of the bad organization.
    - Too many changes, I had 4 different bosses in 3 years...
    - You feel like they don't care about you and your career, they care just about the company.
    - Bad behavior.

    Advice to Management

    Be care of your people.

I have been working at Coty full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    -Summer Fridays
    - Week between Xmas and New Year off
    - Discount on some product
    - Generally speaking, nice coworkers

    Cons

    - The focus is on the bottom line without regard for employees
    - 3rd or 4th round of consolidations/layoffs since I've been with the company in 5 years
    - Upper management is a mess
    - Lack of focus on innovation
    - It was a much better place to work several years ago before going public

    Advice to Management

We're expected to grow our declining brands without increased investment in the face of little innovation. How is this possible? We continue to acquire brands without figuring out how to run the ones that we already own. Good employees are constantly leaving- figure out why people are leaving and then try to do something to action that.
