I have been working at Coty full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

There are some nice, friendly people scattered in the office.

    Cons

Senior leadership throughout are blind to what goes on.

    Advice to Management

Coty leadership very much cares about the employees and how they remain engaged through their career journey. However, this does not appear consistent with your experience. Please know that employees are our top focus! To further reinforce this statement, we recommend you please connect with a member of leadership or HR for support. Either party would be happy to further explain the performance management process and...

    Pros

    Summer Fridays and holiday shutdown

    Cons

Bullying. Leadership knows it’s rampant and pretends not to notice. The behavior is encouraged and those who bully move ahead with zero accountability. If you’re unfortunate enough to be subject to it yet bring it to leadership, you’ll wish you hadn’t. You’ll be met with condescending laughter or be reminded to merely accept “that’s how some people act”. The known and accepted practice of bullying of females by white...

    Pros

    Summer Fridays, Holiday shutdown, campus

    Cons

Favoritism within the department. People getting their way up by giving special favors to their higher up. Unfair/biased pay. There are no “values” in this company. Ran like a start up company with absolutely no organization or signs of improvement.

    Advice to Management

Value your current employees. Remove those leaders who are biased and discriminate. I’d like to see HR respond to this review and not only where they see some type of compliment.

    Pros

None really to mention. Used to be a good place to work

    Cons

Managers/directors put in place that think they know what they are doing. They are making the original Coty employees do all the work and are taking the credit for it. They are putting processes in place that are worse than before.

    Advice to Management

Advance people who have been with Coty not these P&G people who have zero clue what they are doing.

I have been working at Coty full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Great portfolio of products which include top rated fragrances, Philosophy, Nail care products. Good benefits and vacation package.

    Cons

Ever since the P&G integration, the company has done a downward spiral. Great people have left the company and are not bring properly replaced. The workload is spread out to those who remain. The stress level is at an all time high. Employees are expected to work unrealistic hours. Saturday and Sunday conference calls are now normal and accepted. If you enjoy back to back conference calls all day long this is the place...

    Advice to Management

Quit trying to force the European business model on USA locations. The open office is loud and distracting. Overhearing the many loud conference calls going on around you, is not conducive to a thriving and healthy work place. Move back to the old Coty business model before we became “Beauty liberated”

    Pros

Leader in Beauty, Paid Time Off/Summer Fridays

    Cons

Coty is not the same place that it used to be prior to the P&G merger. Top management is rude and does not care about their employees. Also, they pay below industry standards and hire people with no Beauty experience to be heads of Marketing and wonder why Consumer Beauty is struggling so much. Process are broken and morale is low with no end in sight as departments continue to be disbanded or moved to Europe. It...

Every single consumer beauty brand is in decline Hyper micromanagement Short term tactical decisions encouraged with severe lack of clear long term vision and strategy A lot of people in leadership positions who don’t have a clue what they’re doing but are great at convincing people they do Blame culture High turn over and extremely low morale How can you inspire your team to climb the mountain ahead and turn around...

    Pros

you get to work with alot of Reginas, Grechens, Karens, Mrs. George, Piggies, Jacks, Simons... if you are into that

    Cons

Coty culture is a love child of Lord of the Flies and Mean Girls. If you like working with people and leaders with these point of views then this is the company for you: “I think women are foolish to pretend they are equal to men, they are far superior and always have been.” “Fancy thinking the Beast was something you could hunt and kill! Pros

Beautiful office in Calabasas. Great portfolio of brands for those interested in beauty, specifically in the salon professional category. 1/2 day Summer Fridays and several paid vacation days.

    Cons

Horrible options for digital asset management. I cannot believe we are going back to Sharepoint vs. something more efficient like Box or Dropbox. The hierarchical culture. Sub par employees managing to fail forward. Lack of passion or enthusiasm for the professionals we are supposed to serve. Corporate processes that make us followers vs. first to market. Advice to Management

If we are supposed to win in digital, equip us with better digital systems not 17 year old software. Promote employees on merit not on politics. This is a passion driven industry (both hair and nail), but it got lost somewhere in the merger and move. Re-build this and the teams will have a deeper sense of purpose and probably inspire them to think of the next best thing.
