I worked at Country Garden Inn & Suites part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

you get to eat for free.

    Cons

I worked as the morning breakfast cook, will work you to death, have to do everything from cleaning the trashed breakfast rooms, to helping in housekeeping, they don;t tell you all the job responsibilities until they hire you low pay for work they desire, Customers can be jerks, they dont appreciate you and have no boundaries when it comes to the work load and then ask why you haven't left yet. Crabby coworkers, crappy boss's, no benefits. would not recommend

    Advice to Management

You know what you are doing wrong so fix it if you want to keep your employees.

I worked at Country Garden Inn & Suites full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Got to show both my customer service and intermediate computer skills. Most of the other workers were very friendly. Able to eat breakfast whenever it was out and we weren't busy.

    Cons

Had to also do laundry and make the breakfast if working overnight. Also had to wear a very uncomfortable and unflattering uniform (3/4 sleeve thick button up shirt and khaki pants) and couldn't stay just part-time when I asked to because of also working another job. Pay was barely over minimum wage despite me having other job experience and having a bachelor's degree.

    Advice to Management

Change the uniform requirements and hire more housekeepers so that the front desk doesn't have to do their jobs.

    Pros

Its a nicer hotel so it was cool to work there. I got paid more than minimum wage.

    Cons

I worked night shift two nights a week so that was kind of hard. Overall, it was a good experience though.

I worked at Country Garden Inn & Suites (Less than a year)

    Pros

Steady work, that's about the only thing they have going for them.

    Cons

inconsistent leadership, unrealistic expectations of employees. If I work 11pm-7am don't expect me to stay until 9am because your morning person is late again or just a no show.

we had 3 GMs in 4 months it was hard to keep it all straight.

    Advice to Management

get better GMs, don't promote people without the right skills to lead.

I worked at Country Garden Inn & Suites part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Talking and meeting different people. I truly cared about the guests and did my best to accommodate the.

    Cons

A horribly demeaning mgr who never praised you but insulted you. No raises. Owners demeaning to women.

    Advice to Management

They need to listen to their employees and not rely on a new man they bring in who is rude and totally insensitive to guests and employees.
