I worked at Country Road Group part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Good employee discount. Decent cover for uniform. Also fairly flexible with annual leave.

    Cons

There were a lot of upper management changes at the time, that provided instability. Also meant a lot of responsibility was handed over with little to no compensation.

I worked at Country Road Group part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

The people you work with are like your family; everyone is a pleasure to work with, which is a benefit as far as teamwork goes.
There is fairly frequent product training, which has served me well.
Staff allowances and discounts are generous.

    Cons

One of the major issues from working here was the difficulty in moving up. I started as a casual initially, but when I wanted more permanent work, it took quite a while to find an opportunity. For finding something more serious such as a managers position, the "experience-to-get-a-job; job-to-get-experience" adage is also hindering. Even though I had in-depth product knowledge and seasoned experience; it's harder to make your way up even to a department manager role without prior experience.

When I was a casual, the main issues were finding stability and consistency. Busier periods warranted more hours, but the opposite is also true. Despite this, you still need to have a great availability.

    Advice to Management

There are so many people who will live and breathe your brand and are willing to project as an ambassador. They are willing to give it their all, so I would suggest helping build those who want to develop their career with the brand more.
