I have been working at County of Sacramento full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

By far the best county to work for. Sacramento County is very pro-employee and they will help you get to where you need to be.

    Cons

The County budget fluctuates, so you really have to be aware of that, but that comes with any public service job.

    Pros

A lot of great people who use the facilities and who you can work with, great environment and a great experience for a first or second job. There are also many events thrown which you have the opportunity to participate in and it's an overall fun and rewarding job.

    Cons

Being a lifeguard has its cons, you have to be out in the heat of the Sacramento summer nearly every day at its peak, and unruly kids and their hands-off parents make some frustrating situations, however neither are unbearable.

    Advice to Management

Overall my experience was very good as a lifeguard and swim instructor, and as my first job there is really nothing else that I left longing for as it was a great experience and I have no regrets or reservations about it.
