    Coursera for Business, Beware

    Pros

    A) Coursera attracts really smart individuals to work on a compelling mission. B) Coursera provides employees with standard Silicon Valley perks and very competitive compensation.

    Cons

    A) Anyone considering Coursera for Business should dig into its turnover and retention problems. Its executive leadership is untrustworthy and at times abusive (while not working that hard). B) Coursera more broadly is highly layered and incredibly political. You’ll hear an incredible amount of MBA double-speak.

    Pros

Remote work is amazing. Leadership has embraced the remote first work policy and made it a real possibility for all employees.

    Cons

Stock package is not designed to retain talent. Most employees work more like 50-60 hours per week. Parent leave is minimal- especially compared to other tech companies.
