I have been working at Covan full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

A good work atmosphere. The Directors are easy to talk to. Management is approachable with new ideas. They listen and look for ways to improve customer service.

    Cons

This company has some good benefits, however incentives for staying long term are not available (ie. Only 2 weeks vacation no matter length of service and no sick leave).

I worked at Covan full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

If you are looking to build lots of "Slowtation" jet time, it's perfect.

    Cons

These guys fly around 250 to 350 hrs. a year. With no real schedule. For what they do they are way under paid. I personally know both current pilots, who are outstanding, true aviators. Day trips can be in excess of 14 hours and lots of overnights. Football games and executive personal trips are regular. On top of regular true business travel. They don't treat or pay the only two professional's that operate the lethal side of the company very well at all. They fly more than the rest of us on the field.
The other flight department review said 8-9 pilots in the last 3 years. It's been more like 5-6 and one guy left and came back.

    Advice to Management

Treat your pilots as the professionals they are. Hire only the best and try to keep them. You seem to forget that flying jets is left to the highly skilled and there are lots of high paying jobs out there now. The two guys you have now are top notch, try not to loose them.

    Pros

A pay check to be able to eat?

    Cons

I have not worked here, however I have witnessed how they seem to go through pilots in their flight department. In a 3 year period, I have seen at least 8 or 9 different pilots either quit or get fired. I have heard that they pay very little. Any normal person would think that a company would want to keep the best and treat them better? These are the ones that have your life at their command. Pilots based at the same airport have nothing but negative observations of this company. Been told that the pay is way below national average with a above average schedule.

    Advice to Management

Being cheap in the flight department is not the safest or smartest way to go.

I worked at Covan full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Open and friendly upper management, good-great starting salary, supportive work environment, very professional but still mixes in some fun and that awesomely funny southern hospitality.

    Cons

Does anyone like waking up early? During the busy seasons (spring-summer) you can find yourself at work on Saturday (Overtime/weekend pay is great), a lot of the "extra curricular" activities (BBQ's, NCAA final 4 parties etc.) are required but the plus side is they bring in good food and drink, they are not stingy.

    Advice to Management

Continue down this same path of being open and friendly to all employees, maybe be more flexible when providing more opportunity's to employees when it comes to re-location.
