I worked at Covenant Health Canada part-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

Good flexible hours, excellent benefits, friendly staff within all departments

    Cons

Certain department managers sometimes being verbally abusive to staff. Also bullying tactics by former HR (who no longer works there) by forcing staff to resign or quit just to save money within Covenant Health. Certain departments belittling staff. Too much politics.

    Advice to Management

Stop bullying your staff and forcing some to resign. Listen to your staff. No need to bully to get your way. People have feelings. Need to reduce wastage as in drug wastage, IV bags and other medical supplies. It's ridiculous how much is thrown out- some can be easily donated to post secondary schools for training purposes.

I worked at Covenant Health Canada

    Pros

The benefits covered everything and healthcare spending account was great.

    Cons

The general mentality is not one of growing employees, it is one of stay in your place and be happy with what we give you. They consistently underpay for the industry (administration level). They have no appreciation for employees, inappropriate behaviour happens regularly, and they carry on about "Catholic Values" that are rarely exhibited by anyone except for frontline staff.

    Advice to Management

Appreciate committed employees and don't bully people.

    Pros

Company creates an environment that feels caring. Compensation and benefits are extremely good.

    Cons

Catholic values are constantly being discussed. Organization represents itself in a way that suggests that all employees are in agreement and there is little opportunity to oppose these Catholic values.Hardware is often outdated.

I worked at Covenant Health Canada full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Good income and ok benefits while it lasted. I wish I could put: opportunities for self-development Hours are good

    Cons

Everything seemed like it was put in place for employees to be herded like sheep in their daily lives. Each person was given a self-worth sticker and if they ever tried to build themselves or become a better person, the guys on top will surely design their destruction No seriously

    Advice to Management

Stop and see what you're doing. Is it even sustainable? You're going to get beat out of your position sooner or later. And the slower you adapt and become more transparent, the faster you'll get kicked off your high horse.
