I worked at Covenant Services full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Covenant had a great benefit package and matched 4% at 8% in the 401K. They mainly promoted from within and had leadership and training programs. If you worked hard you could go from $50,000 to $70,000 in a couple years. Overtime is available and they gave out a yearly bonus and raise. They offer flexible scheduled for families, 4/10

    Cons

The hierarchy is steeped with cronyism. It's understandable because you need to know who you promote but they miss out on very qualified individuals who move on. The turnover rate is very high. They've had an employee deficiency since the very beginning. The moral is very low. Almost non-existent.

    Advice to Management

Take a serious look at who you promote. I loved that job. I created my own challenges and met them. I wasn't on the radar for promotion. Now another company has the pleasure of my skills and winning personality. This isn't sour grapes. I get why you promote the way you do. I believe it's a failure though and needs attention.

I worked at Covenant Services (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great medical and dental coverage for 50 dollars a paycheck if you are single.
Overtime is always available due to high turn-over rates. They practically hire a new class every 4 months, The average termination rate is about 2 person a week.

    Cons

Impossible to get a day off, even if you were to put in months in advance you may not get that day off.
When an error is made by management which resulted in you getting disciplined, they will not correct the error and will go with it, no matter what tangible evidence is produced.
They have no respect for labor laws until you sue, they will terminate you for calling in sick.
If you challenge them in any manner, you will be harassed and written-up for the pettiest things.
They want to get rid of those who have been there for a long time, as they would accrue longer vacations and high 401K contributions. Thus, senior employees find themselves getting harassed and scrutinized a lot compared to teh

    Advice to Management

You really have to hire competent management, the utilization of the authoritarian model will fail. You are slowly losing contracts from TSA due to poor management. Trinity and First Line have taken many of your airport contracts because of a lower bid, due to less of a turnover rate. Reduce your staffing expenditures by improving your employee relations, your turn over rate will improve.

I have been working at Covenant Services (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Pays well if you work in operations. Benefit is great if you are single. Job is secured as long as you do your job and show up on time.

    Cons

For the admin staff, there is NO cost of living adjustment. No pay increase for at least the last five years. Management find every way to cut cost and staff.

    Advice to Management

Give your loyal, dedicated staff the raise or cost of living adjustment they deserve. There are just a few of them. It is wrong to give 98 percent of your workforce yearly raises and not your support/admin staff. A little appreciation goes a long way. Stop justifying the bonus given to us make up for the raise because people who do gets the raise still gets bonus.
