I have been working at Covestro full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good salary and benefits, great people to work with, good overall culture, lots of opportunities to grow. No individual reviews. If the company does well, you do well.

    Cons

Some of the long standing Bayer employees do not work well with changes and it is hard to get them to cooperate. Headquarters is in Germany so we are not always aligned as quickly as we should be but that is getting better.

    Advice to Management

Need to enforce the policies. Pittsburgh campus tends to do its own thing even though all the other NAFTA locations fall in line.

I have been working at Covestro full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Covestro has positive relations with their people including 980 Fridays off, 3 week vacation for entry level employees, and a stock profit sharing plan.

    Cons

Tend to promote employees strictly on number of years of experience and not the quality of work a given employee produces.

    Advice to Management

Continue to develop top quality employees on "fast-track" career paths to allow for retention of quality talent.

I have been working at Covestro full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

In ten plus years, this company has found ways to challenge me. That makes it interesting. I look forward to coming in each day and facing what lies before me! The challenges are always different and exact something from each of my skills.

    Cons

Complexity at times. Paperwork (or should I say keyboarding) tends to be a bit of a detractor once in a while. Some simplification of accounting practices for the day to day work would be appreciated.

    Advice to Management

Sometimes a lighter grip on the reigns yields enhanced performance from employees. One would be amazed at how well a bird can fly when it is not tethered.

I worked at Covestro full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Worked here thru sheffield plastics into Bayer into Covestro days.
    Benefits are good

    Cons

Management is a joke. All previous managers except one were pushed out by Big Bayer. New players are not knowledgeable. one guy left wants to cruise and retire early. HR is dumber than a bag of rocks. The dead end jobs and nepotism will drive any motivated person away.

    Advice to Management

Learn about your business, don't treat your favorites differently, promote organic growth
