    I worked at Covidien full-time

    Pros

The workers are very friendly once you get to know them. Pay and benefits are decent once you become a permanent worker.

    Cons

It's a sterile environment and being inside for 8-10 hours can really mess with your head. Lead members can be demanding in order to reach the production numbers.

    Advice to Management

Evaluate the leads because they can sometimes make ineffective decisions.

I worked at Covidien full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great products to bring innovative solutions to patients around the world. Over 50k products that work from a band aid to electro surgery.

    Cons

Was sold to other big company and they eliminated a lot of positions with the integration process. In the process they let behind a lot of talent.

    Advice to Management

Rally need to evaluate the process of takeover

I worked at Covidien full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Enjoyed working with peers roughly my same age for once. The Boulder, CO campus embraced a "work hard, have fun" attitude and culture of fairness.

    Cons

Senior leadership acted differently than the mid-level and lower level professionals. Felt as if they didn't mingle because they were too uptight and corporate for the rest of us doing their biding.

    Pros

Really nice people. Most of them have been working together for a long time so it'll take them some time to open to you but overall, good people.

    Cons

The temps are not part of any of the company's activities. it sucks to be part of a project and not be able to share the celebrations or the milestone as a full member of the team.

    Advice to Management

Treat the temps better. Better pay, make them feel part of the team.

I worked at Covidien full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Exciting medical devices and amazing R&D teams. Always on the cutting edge of new science and technology.

    Cons

Corporate politics and constant reorganizations leads to insecurity of job longevity.

    Advice to Management

Consider employees stake in the game and that their brain equity is of strong value to a technical and science-based company such as this. No one wants to stick around, when you are just a number on the COGs list.
